Yellowstone’s Josh Lucas Exchanges Vows with Meteorologist Brianna Ruffalo in Vatican City

As if the Vatican needed another marquee event, Yellowstone star Josh Lucas tied the knot with ABC7 Los Angeles meteorologist Brianna Ruffalo in a ceremony that combined Hollywood polish with sacred grandeur on July 18, 2024.
The couple chose St. Peter’s Basilica as their backdrop, completing the proposal-to-altar timeline in exactly one year. Lucas popped the question during a romantic Italian getaway last summer, and this week the pair sealed the deal in the heart of the Catholic Church. Their Instagram announcements left followers scrolling back for more snaps of the black-and-white celebration.
“Mr. and Mrs.,” Ruffalo captioned her Instagram carousel, sharing elegant stills of the bride in a strapless lace gown and the groom in a classic black tuxedo. She wrote that they felt “incredibly blessed to receive this sacrament together inside the heart of the Catholic Church and holy city.” On his own account, the 54-year-old actor thanked an army of vendors, including acclaimed photographer Caterina Errani and planners at Weddings Italy, for turning a fantasy into reality on the cobblestone streets of Vatican City.
Instagram followers got a peek behind the curtain the next day when Lucas posted a candid shot of him gazing at his new wife mid-ceremony. He added, “Many many people to thank for this to come.” His sentiment echoed Ruffalo’s initial tribute after the proposal, when she confessed they knew “almost immediately we had each found our person in a way we’ve never experienced—on every level.”
This whirlwind romance went public in 2023, and Ruffalo, 34, said the proposal was “the easiest and best question I’ve ever answered.” The meteorologist gushed that she couldn’t wait “to keep living this life with you” after sharing ring selfies from the Italian hillside where Lucas bent the knee.
Lucas, best known for his turn as a calculating cattle rancher on Paramount’s Yellowstone, couldn’t resist a quip about his wife’s cinematic loyalties. He admitted to E! News last March that Ruffalo remains “team Patrick Dempsey” when it comes to their run-through of the 2002 rom-com Sweet Home Alabama, in which Lucas played Susan Sarandon’s love interest. Despite attempting a movie night, Ruffalo conked out ten minutes in—still firmly in Dempsey’s camp.
The Vatican nuptials mark a high point in celebrity weddings this summer, joining TikToker Madeleine White’s Greek isle celebration and a Spice Girls alum’s London vows. For Lucas and Ruffalo, this sacred service is more than a headline— it’s the foundation for a partnership built on faith, shared giggles, and apparently, a mutual tolerance of sleepy movie dates.
Well, there you have it. Even the Pope got a front-row seat to Hollywood’s answer to weather forecasting.
