Weinstein Sues ‘Finding Neverland’ Tour Partners for $2.3M Dispute

I’m Jaden Patel, and Harvey Weinstein is taking his stage credentials off Broadway and into the courtroom, claiming he’s still owed $2.3 million by the producers of the ‘Finding Neverland’ national tour.
This one’s got everything: theatrical flair, backstage accounting drama, and the sort of numbers that make even the most hardened accountant raise an eyebrow.
In a legal filing made public on August 5, 2025, in New York’s Supreme Court, Weinstein alleges that his partners behind the touring production withheld more than $2.3 million due to him and his two companies—Weinstein Live Entertainment and Finding Neverland USA LLC—after the Broadway run closed in August 2016.
The wrinkle? The final contracts apparently never saw a signature before the tour launched in October 2016. Weinstein contends the shake on paper didn’t stop the checks from being cut for a while, but then the payments mysteriously dried up.
Harvey claims he held a 50 percent ownership stake in the touring venture, meaning half of the gross proceeds should have landed in his accounts. Instead, he says his erstwhile partners skimmed roughly four percent of total ticket sales—about $4.6 million—without any disclosure or authorization.
To break it down, Weinstein asserts the deal guaranteed him a weekly advance of $4,000, a consulting fee of $3,750 per week, and a minimum weekly guarantee of $2,000. As a sweeter incentive, he also had a 27.5 percent cut of net profits once the tour turned a profit.
Since he didn’t see the money he expected, Weinstein is demanding at least $2.3 million plus interest, along with coverage of his legal fees. He wants the ledger balanced, and he’s willing to let the courts decide.
TMZ reports that Weinstein’s team has reached out to Network Presentations and National Artist Management Company for comment, but neither has publicly responded to the lawsuit as of press time.
This lawsuit arrives just weeks after Weinstein was found guilty on one sex crime charge in New York, with a mistrial declared on a second rape allegation, and following his 16-year sentence in Los Angeles on separate convictions.
Well, there you have it. Humanity at its finest.
