Vanessa Bryant Slams Shut the Door on Pregnancy Rumors with Sassy US Open Clapback

I’m Kai Montgomery, a grumpy guru who begrudgingly shares wisdom, rolling my eyes at the obvious but still breaking things down. And, oh joy, it seems like some people still can’t get enough of spreading unfounded rumors about celebrities. Case in point: Vanessa Bryant, the widow of basketball legend Kobe Bryant, has once again had to address speculation about her being pregnant. Because, apparently, some folks just can’t get over the fact that she’s a mom of three and still looks fabulous.
Vanessa Bryant isn’t letting more pregnancy rumors take flight, shutting down speculation with a perfect clapback during her visit to the US Open. The 43-year-old mom to Natalia Bryant, 22, Bianka Bryant, 8, and Capri Bryant, 6, with the late Kobe Bryant, as well as their late daughter Gianna “Gigi” Bryant, debunked pregnancy rumors with a US Open essential. During a September 6 visit to the Grand Slam tournament with Bianka and Capri, Vanessa partook in one of the tournament’s signature cocktails: the honey deuce, a combination of vodka, fresh lemonade, raspberry liqueur, and honeydew melon shaped to look like tennis balls.
“Enjoying my honey-deuce,” she wrote on her Instagram Story after the outing, per a screenshot shared by TMZ. “Keep me posted on how this imaginary pregnancy rumor is coming along.” As she put it, “24 years later… same rumor.” But Vanessa didn’t let any misguided speculation stop her and her daughters from having a good time. The Granity Studios CEO also shared a video montage of the sporty outing with Bianka and Capri, showing the trio were all smiles as they took in the women’s final between Aryna Sabalenka and Amanda Anisimova.
She captioned the September 7 post, “Honey deuce’n.” But this isn’t the first time Vanessa has alluded to previous pregnancy rumors. In fact, this is the second time she’s addressed baby speculation just this summer. Back in June, the philanthropist utilized the help of two hilarious Rihanna memes to shut down any rumors she had a new baby on board. The first meme showed Rihanna hanging in the pool, a snorkel on her face and her middle fingers up in the air. Vanessa wrote alongside the image, “Me protecting my peace, not pregnant & having fun all summer.” Alongside a second image of the “Disturbia” singer, Vanessa added, “I’m not mean, I’m just not the one.”
Instead, Vanessa is enjoying life with her daughters. And when they’re not taking in tennis, Kobe’s daughters are taking a page out of their dad’s book. Earlier this summer, Vanessa shared a look at Capri’s love for basketball. In the snap, the 8-year-old—whose middle name is Kobe, in honor of her father—held a basketball in one hand and gazed up, emulating a similar pose Kobe took years earlier. “Like father, like daughter,” Vanessa captioned her July 24 Instagram post, which included a split image of Capri and Kobe. Vanessa also referred to her little one as “Baby Mamba” and her nickname “KoKo Bean,” both additional homages to the late basketball star.
The basketball star posed with his parents Joe Bryant and Pamela Bryant after winning the NBA Championship on June 19, 2000. The duo were all smiles while posing for a portrait in November 2000. Vanessa showed off her baby bump at the 2019 Baby2Baby Gala in Los Angeles. “Happy Birthday B.B. I Can’t believe you are 3 already!” Kobe wrote on Instagram back in December 2019. “We love you little mamacita.” “My Bianka Bella Bryant (BBB),” Kobe wrote on Instagram back in November 2019. “Happy Thanksgiving! Thankful for my family!” Kobe wrote via Instagram back in November 2019. The Bryants dressed up as characters from The Wizard of Oz back in October 2019. “My Gigi,” Kobe wrote on Instagram back in September 2019. The father-daughter duo sat courtside at the the Lakers vs Mavericks game at the Staples Center in 2019.
“@vanessabryant surprised me by bringing our two little babies B.B and KoKo to my @granity book signing of #legacyandthequeen at @barnesandnoble,” the caption of the September 2019 post read. “Happy Mother’s Day @vanessabryant we love you and thank you for all that you do for our family,” Kobe wrote on Instagram back in May 2019, about a month before Capri’s birth. “You are the foundation of all that we hold dear. I love you #mybaby #lioness #mamabear #queenmamba.” “Had a great trip to @uconnwbb for senior night and the retirement of basketball legend @prom
And there you have it, folks. Vanessa Bryant has once again shut down pregnancy rumors with style and sass. Because, let’s be real, some people just need to get a grip.
