Okay so grab your coffee and buckle up because this is WILD I am buzzing and need to spill the tea on Tracee Ellis Ross’s minimalist packing secrets!

At Travel + Leisure’s annual World’s Best Summit in New York City on July 15, the Black-ish alum dropped a packing bombshell. “There’s always two undies,” Tracee, 52, shared with the audience, according to People. She explained that in her carry-on you’ll find exactly two pairs of underwear – alongside one bathing suit, a flip flop, and one little dress that can be rolled up. Fans on social media exploded with questions and theories, but the Pattern Beauty founder was quick to clarify her system.

In a follow-up on her Instagram Stories, Tracee put the rumor mill to rest. She admitted being a “habitual overpacker” who checks at least four bags packed with more undergarments. “Y’all need to quit it I ain’t got time for this I’m on vacation,” she joked, reassuring fans she never truly stints on her delicates.

Even so, Tracee insisted that traveling with a month’s worth of underwear is simply not realistic. “How do you do that They take up a lot of space,” she told People. Instead, her ingeniously efficient solution is hand washing bras, panties, and swimsuits mid-trip and letting them air dry. The actress gave a detailed peek into this routine on TikTok during her solo trip to Paris. In her first video clip she filled one sink with shower gel and her underwear then scrubbed them “like a washing machine,” per Travel + Leisure. She then moved the pieces to a second sink of cold water for a soak before using bar soap to give each piece a final cleanse.

Tracee’s follow-up video is a masterclass in compact laundry. She laid all her black undergarments on a towel, rolled it up and stood on it to wring out excess water. The actress then hung each piece on a heated hotel towel rack for rapid drying. “In this fancy hotel the towel rack is heated so it’s going to dry quickly,” she noted, proving that a little attention to detail makes solo travel stressfree.

This packing hack isn’t just about saving space It reflects Tracee’s broader approach to selfdiscovery on the road Solo travel has been her gateway to honoring her own needs and creativity She told Travel + Leisure in 2023 that exploring the world on her own has taught her invaluable life lessons and deepened her selfawareness.

With her new Roku series Solo Traveling with Tracee Ellis Ross premiering July 25, fans can expect even more insider tips and heartfelt reflections. Whether she’s handwashing her essentials in a Paris sink or checking multiple suitcases, Tracee’s travel philosophy proves that fewer items can yield richer experiences.

Whew I swear my heart rate is still up after all that packing prowess Talk about inspiration for our next getaway
