Thieves Fake Seizure to Snatch Puppies: Shenanigans at Perfect Pets

In a bizarre twist worthy of a heist movie, a crew of three men pulled off a jaw-dropping puppy snatch at Perfect Pets in Centennial, Colorado, on February 23. It seems that faking a medical emergency is the new trick in the underworld handbook, and Timothy Davis, 37, took center stage by pretending to seize while his accomplices made off with two adorable English Bulldog puppies, each valued at a hefty $4,299. Talk about an unconventional distraction!
According to a store employee who spilled the tea to PEOPLE, the trio entered the shop at different times, casually wandering around. Our employee played it smart by holding onto an ID before allowing any potential pooch playtime, sensing that something wasn’t quite right. One of the suspects exploited this very moment of distraction, creating a diversion as he dramatically “crumbled” to the floor.
While Davis was arrested right there, two other suspects managed to escape, jumping into a gold Cadillac Escalade driven by a mysterious fourth accomplice. The chase may sound like something out of a bad action movie, but unfortunately, it has real consequences. Authorities are still on the hunt for these canine crooks. Descriptions from law enforcement paint a sketchy picture — one of the suspects wore a large black coat, while another donned a funky blue and white beanie.
Adding to the chaos, Perfect Pets has experienced two other theft attempts this month alone. Just days before the Bulldog debacle, two moms reportedly tried to sneak off with a mini Bernadoodle and a Cavapoo, tucking them into baby strollers. As for a previous attempt involving a Boxer, our vigilant employee managed to retrieve the pup just in time. It’s safe to say that February has not been a good month for this pet store and its employees, who’ve given a heartfelt shoutout to the public for their overwhelming support during this rollercoaster ride.
In response to this alarming crime spree, store owner Jens Larsen announced a $1,000 reward for the return of each stolen puppy. As the search for the remaining suspects continues, anyone with information is urged to contact Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office. It’s shaping up to be a ‘ruff’ month for Perfect Pets — let’s hope these puppies are reunited with their rightful owners soon!
