The Office Legends Steve Carell and John Krasinski Drop by The Paper Set for a Surprise Visit

The Office Legends Steve Carell and John Krasinski Drop by The Paper Set for a Surprise Visit
  • PublishedSeptember 2, 2025

I’m Riley Carter, and I’m here to spill the tea on a major celebrity sighting that’s got everyone buzzing. Imagine being on set, going about your day, and suddenly, two of the most iconic stars from The Office walk in – talk about a surprise! That’s exactly what happened to the cast of The Paper, a spin-off of the beloved series, when Steve Carell and John Krasinski paid them a visit.

The Paper cast members Chelsea Frei and Sabrina Impacciatore got to experience this unforgettable moment firsthand. According to Chelsea, it was one of their first days on set, and they were in the hair and makeup trailer when Steve and John walked in, looking “phenomenal.” The cast was starstruck, and who wouldn’t be? After all, these are the guys who brought Michael Scott and Jim Halpert to life.

Chelsea and Sabrina opened up about their encounter with the original American series’ stars in an exclusive E! News interview. They shared how they were initially nervous about following in the footsteps of The Office, but Steve and John reassured them that they should see The Paper as its own unique entity. As Chelsea put it, “Everyone I’ve met from the original The Office has been so insanely supportive.”

Sabrina, a longtime fan of Steve Carell, was especially thrilled to meet her idol. She recalled traveling from Italy to see him perform on Broadway last year and described the experience as a “blessing.” Steve, being the kind soul that he is, offered her some sage advice: to “just enjoy” working with series creator Greg Daniels and to “let it go.” And, as Sabrina noted, that’s exactly what they did.

Domhnall Gleeson, who plays Ned Sampson in The Paper, also had the opportunity to work with Steve and John on previous projects. He shared that they both highly recommended working with Greg Daniels, saying he’s the best and that you’ll have a blast working with him. And, as Domhnall noted, they were right – he’s having a great time.

The Paper premieres all 10 episodes on Peacock on September 4, so mark your calendars! In the meantime, let’s catch up on what Steve Carell and John Krasinski have been up to since their time on The Office.

Steve Carell has become one of Hollywood’s most in-demand actors, starring in movies like Beautiful Boy, The Big Short, and Vice, as well as TV shows like The Morning Show and Space Force. He even earned an Emmy nomination for his work on The Morning Show. Not bad, right?

John Krasinski, on the other hand, has been keeping busy with projects like A Quiet Place, which he directed and starred in alongside his wife Emily Blunt. He’s also debuted his own movie, IF, which he wrote and directed. And, let’s not forget his role as Jack Ryan in the popular Amazon Prime series.

As for The Paper, it’s clear that the cast is excited to bring this new series to life. With the support of Steve Carell and John Krasinski, they’re sure to make a lasting impression. And, who knows, maybe we’ll see some familiar faces from The Office make an appearance.

Anyway, that’s the deal. Do with it what you will.
