Taylor Swift’s Low-Key NYC Pasta Run with Dakota Johnson

Taylor Swift’s Low-Key NYC Pasta Run with Dakota Johnson
  • PublishedMay 30, 2025

Whatever you do, don’t blink: Taylor Swift and Dakota Johnson just made a simple Via Carota dinner look like a national emergency. The 14-time Grammy winner slipped into the West Village hotspot on May 29 for an evening of pasta and eye rolls, dragging along their brothers—Austin Swift, 33, and Jesse Johnson, 42—so we had additional male bodies to ogle. Swift’s chosen camouflage? A black spaghetti-strap dress sprinkled with glittering floral appliqués, strappy heels, pulled-back ponytail and her trademark red lipstick. Johnson countered in all-black as well—a demure dress layered under a leather jacket with her hair piled on top. Shockingly, no one asked for a song rendition mid-meal. Fan videos confirm Swift made a solo grand entrance and exit, because God forbid two A-listers share the same doorway at the same time.

In case you missed it (impossible, we know), this wasn’t Swifty’s first run-in with this Italian joint—she’s been spotted here with producer Jack Antonoff and bride-to-be Margaret Qualley, not to mention various girls-night-out conspiracies. Via Carota might as well rename a menu item “Taylor’s Table” at this point.

Hold onto your seat cushions: exactly one week before, on May 23, Swift was traipsing through West Palm Beach, Florida, to “support and spend time” with her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, at Harry’s Bar & Restaurant. A PEOPLE insider spilled that Kelce “was working on Friday before his dinner date with Taylor” and “left early to go meet her.” Sources add he “still seems very happy with Taylor,” which is the sort of groundbreaking soap-opera revelation you can’t find at your corner bodega.

Earlier in May, the power couple even forced their way into a family-friendly Mother’s Day brunch at Talula’s Garden in Philadelphia, complete with both sets of parents grinning through mimosa glasses. According to insiders, Swift and Kelce—official since 2023—are “very serious and in sync,” valuing “private time out of the spotlight,” even though every cheeseboard they share ends up on Instagram.

Quick reality check: Swift wrapped her Eras Tour in December 2024; Kelce just lost the Super Bowl to the Eagles, thwarting a three-peat. Yet here they are, gallivanting between Italian bistros and NFL training sessions, reminding us that celebrity life is one long episode of “Look at Me.” And that’s today’s dose of reality. You’re welcome.
