Taylor Swift’s Engagement Ring Designer Spills the Tea on Fan Reaction to Her Stunning Diamond

I’m Avery Sinclair, a no-nonsense journalist with a sharp tongue and a keen eye for detail. As a self-proclaimed skeptic, I’m not easily impressed by the glamour and glitz of celebrity culture, but I do love a good story. And Taylor Swift’s engagement to Travis Kelce is certainly making waves.
The designer behind Taylor Swift’s breathtaking engagement ring, Kindred Lubeck, recently took to Instagram to share an inspiring message with her followers. In a video posted on August 29, Lubeck detailed her journey as a jeweler, from starting out in 2019 at just 25 years old to crafting the stunning diamond ring that now adorns Swift’s finger. “My name is Kindred Lubeck,” she said. “I’m 30 years old, I started making jewelry in the summer of 2019. I was 25.” Lubeck encouraged viewers to follow their passions, no matter what others may say. “I believe that if someone says you can’t do something, you should prove them 110 percent wrong,” she continued. “I think when one door closes, you should kick the next one down. I think that if you have a dream, you should never, ever quit.”
Swift, 35, unveiled her sparkling engagement ring in an Instagram photo carousel on August 26, declaring, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.” The ring itself is a single elongated diamond set on a yellow gold band with two smaller diamonds on each side. According to multiple sources, including E! News, Swift and Kelce’s romance began in July 2023, when the singer’s Eras Tour made a stop at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. Kelce, a huge Swiftie, had hoped to give her a friendship bracelet with his number on it, but unfortunately, he missed his chance due to her pre-show rituals.
Undeterred, Kelce decided to shoot his shot and invite Swift to watch the Chiefs play at Arrowhead Stadium. “I threw it out there, I threw the ball in her court,” he shared on The Pat McAfee Show. “I told her, you know, ‘I’ve seen you rock the stage in Arrowhead, you might have to come see me rock the stage in Arrowhead and see which one’s a little more lit.'” As fate would have it, Kelce’s invite was accepted, and the two began texting and talking in early September.
Travis Kelce’s dad, Ed Kelce, shared details about his son’s mindset before popping the question. “It was a couple weeks ago that Travis got it done, after a few weeks of prodding from myself and from [Taylor’s dad] Scott Swift,” Ed said in an interview with Today Australia. “He was going to do it, but wanted to find the perfect way to ask her and to make it special.” And after getting the call that the deed was done, Ed couldn’t have been happier. “They’re just so good together,” he gushed. “They really are. And they’re both so happy.”
As for Lubeck, she ended her video with a message of gratitude to her followers, including a nod to one of Swift’s hit songs. “For those of you have been with me since day one, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart,” she concluded. “And to those of you who are new, I’m enchanted to meet you.” It’s clear that Lubeck is thrilled to have been a part of Swift’s special moment, and fans are loving the ring. But will this fairytale romance last, or is it just another publicity stunt? Only time will tell.
And that’s today’s dose of reality. You’re welcome.
