Tame Impala’s ‘Deadbeat Tour’ Kicks Off in Brooklyn: What to Expect

Tame Impala’s ‘Deadbeat Tour’ Kicks Off in Brooklyn: What to Expect
  • PublishedSeptember 5, 2025

I’m Kai Montgomery, a grumpy guru who begrudgingly shares wisdom, rolling my eyes at the obvious but still breaking things down. And, apparently, I have to tell you about Tame Impala’s latest tour announcement. Because, of course, you care.

Tame Impala, the psychedelic rock group led by Kevin Parker, has just announced a short North American tour in support of his forthcoming fifth studio album, “Deadbeat,” which hits shelves on October 17. And, because fans are apparently clamoring for more, the Grammy winner will headline back-to-back nights at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on October 31 and November 1.

The “Deadbeat Tour” will be a brief affair, with only eight concerts booked so far. After the Barclays Center shows, Tame Impala will make stops in Chicago, Austin, San Diego, Los Angeles (twice), and Oakland. It’s not exactly a world tour, but fans in these cities will likely be thrilled to have the opportunity to see Parker and his band perform live.

Before this quick trek, Tame Impala performed twice in Barcelona this past June. The first was a DJ set at the Primavera Festival, while the second was a surprise spot at the local Nitsa Club, where Parker debuted the lead single from “Deadbeat,” “End of Summer.” This song, described as a “thumping, house-inspired track” that blends indie rock, EDM, pop, and psychedelic synths, has been making waves in the music world.

Parker, 39, also performed classic tracks like “Let It Happen” and “Tomorrow’s Dust” (from his most recent record, 2020’s “The Slow Rush”) along with his Gorillaz collaboration “New Gold” and Grammy-winning “Neverender” at the pop-up show. It’s clear that Tame Impala is still a force to be reckoned with in the music world.

Tickets for the “Deadbeat Tour” are available on sites like Vivid Seats, with the official on-sale taking place on September 12. Fans who purchase tickets will have a 100% buyer guarantee, ensuring that their transaction will be safe and secure.

Tame Impala took over Barclays Center for two nights back in March 2022, and fans are likely eager to see what the band has in store for them this time around. According to Set List FM, the encore gig in 2022 featured a 18-song setlist that included fan favorites like “Breathe Deeper,” “Let It Happen,” and “The Less I Know the Better.”

In addition to “End of Summer,” Tame Impala has released another single, “Loser,” which is a classic funky track with introspective lyrics and tight, trippy instrumentals. Both singles have music videos, which can be found online.

The “Deadbeat Tour” is a great opportunity for fans to see Tame Impala live and experience the band’s unique blend of psychedelic rock and electronic music. With a new album on the horizon and a string of live shows booked, it’s clear that Tame Impala is still a major player in the music world.

And that, dear reader, is why we can’t have nice things… or, at the very least, why we can’t have a simple, quiet evening without Tame Impala announcing a new tour.
