Selena Gomez’s Wedding Plans: David Henrie Spills the Tea on His Attendance and the Star-Studded Guest List

Because, of course, another celebrity is getting hitched, and we all get to speculate about the drama that’s sure to unfold. David Henrie, Selena’s former co-star from Wizards of Waverly Place, recently spilled the beans on his attendance at the big day, and let’s just say it’s a miracle he didn’t have to RSVP with a no.

In a recent interview with Parade, David confirmed that he’ll be attending Selena’s wedding to Benny Blanco, as long as nothing else comes up. I mean, who wouldn’t want to celebrate the union of two people who are probably just going to make each other’s lives more complicated? David’s already discussed the wedding with Selena, and he’s excited to see his longtime friend walk down the aisle. Because, you know, that’s exactly what you want to do on your friend’s special day – make it about you.

They’ve also collaborated on the show as executive producers, because who doesn’t love a good paycheck? David’s daughters with wife Maria Cahill are probably more excited about the wedding than he is, but hey, at least he’s being supportive.

As for the wedding itself, Selena and Benny have been taking things one day at a time, which is code for “they have no idea what they’re doing.” Benny joked in a March interview with Rolling Stone that Selena plans a new wedding in her head every day, which is adorable, but also a little concerning. I mean, can’t they just elope and avoid all the drama?

The guest list is shaping up to be a who’s who of celebrities, with Taylor Swift offering to be the flower girl, because who wouldn’t want to be a part of this circus? Steve Martin and Martin Short are also reportedly invited, and Drew Barrymore even suggested that Selena’s Only Murders in the Building costars officiate the ceremony. Because, you know, that’s exactly what you want to do on your special day – make it about your TV show.

Despite the excitement, Selena and Benny have yet to finalize a date, which is probably for the best. I mean, can you imagine the disaster that would ensue if they tried to plan a wedding? Ed Sheeran even suggested in a May lie detector test for Vanity Fair that he’d already been invited, but Benny has insisted that they haven’t scheduled a date yet. Yeah, because that’s exactly what you want to do – make false promises to your guests.

In all seriousness, it’s nice to see Selena and Benny so in love, even if it is a little nauseating. David Henrie’s attendance at the wedding is a nice touch, and I’m sure he’ll bring his A-game to the celebration. Or not. Who knows? Maybe he’ll just show up and pretend to be happy for them.
