Selena Gomez & Benny Blanco’s Chic Monochrome Moment

Selena Gomez & Benny Blanco’s Chic Monochrome Moment
  • PublishedMay 21, 2025

Oh, fantastic—because what the world absolutely needed was Selena Gomez and fiancé Benny Blanco coordinating in black-and-white like some sort of high-budget PowerPoint presentation. But hey, you’re welcome for the intel. On May 21, Gomez, 31, took to her Instagram Stories to serve up a mirror selfie from their February Interview Magazine cover shoot, dressed head-to-toe in white button-down shirts and black neckties. Did they look like they raided each other’s closets? Yes. Is it adorably predictable? Also yes. I told you so: nothing says “true love” like perfectly synced neckwear.

To soundtrack their twinning triumph, Gomez slapped on Lauryn Hill’s soulful cover of Frankie Valli’s “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You,” then captioned the moment with a solitary black heart emoji. Blanco, 37, who popped the question in December 2024, has waxed poetic about their dynamic, telling Interview Magazine, “I remember before I was with her, I was like, ‘You know what? I’m going to stop everything I’m doing and just focus all my energy on being a grownup and being with the right person.’” Then he doubled down on the romance, gushing, “Now I worship the ground she walks on and I feel like she’s the same way to me. There’s no ego between us. She’s praying for me to win and I’m praying for her to win.” Cue the collective eyeroll.

As if that sartorial serenade wasn’t enough, Gomez also peeled back the curtain on the upcoming fifth season of Only Murders In the Building. Her BTS video, which looks like it was shot by a drunken paparazzo, features Martin Short and Steve Martin trading jabs (“of course she didn’t say you were boring, she just thought you were boring”), and even pans to a guy dressed as Chewbacca. Selena’s own caption? “wtf is going on in this video?” Right there with you, Selena. The Wrap reports that newcomers Logan Lerman, Renée Zellweger, Beanie Feldstein, Christoph Waltz and more are joining the murder-mystery parade, which started filming in March. That’s all fine and dandy, but I remain unimpressed until someone brings actual clues instead of fur-clad space wookies.

So we’ve got matching outfits, public declarations of worshipful romance, and a behind-the-scenes peek at a show stuffed with Hollywood heavyweights. Shocking? Hardly. But if you’re itching for more of this coordinated chaos—and trust me, you are—stay tuned. And that, dear reader, is why we can’t have nice things.
