Schwarzenegger Family Feud: Joseph Baena Snubbed from Patrick’s Wedding

I’m Riley Carter, and I’m here to give you the lowdown on the latest celebrity drama. So, it turns out that Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son Joseph Baena wasn’t invited to his half-brother Patrick’s wedding – and we’re not talking about some minor family gathering, we’re talking about a high-profile wedding with A-list guests.
According to a report from TMZ, Joseph, 27, was allegedly left off the guest list for Patrick, 31, and his wife Abby Champion’s September 6 nuptials in Idaho. Sources close to the family claim that Joseph wasn’t invited because he “has no relationship with that side of the Schwarzenegger fam.” It’s not hard to see why – after all, Joseph is Arnold’s son from an affair with his former housekeeper Mildred Baena, and it’s clear that there’s been some tension between Joseph and his half-siblings over the years.
The wedding itself was a star-studded affair, with guests including Patrick’s parents Arnold, 78, and Maria Shriver, 69, as well as his siblings Katherine, 35, Christina, 34, and Christopher, 27. Patrick’s brother-in-law Chris Pratt and his “The White Lotus” co-star Jason Isaacs were also in attendance. The happy couple exchanged vows at the picturesque Gozzer Ranch Golf & Lake Club, overlooking Lake Coeur d’Alene. Patrick looked dashing in a cream tuxedo and black dress pants, while Abby stunned in a sleeveless cream gown and floor-length veil.
But what’s really interesting here is the history between Joseph and the rest of the Schwarzenegger family. Arnold secretly welcomed Joseph with Mildred during his 25-year marriage to Shriver, and it’s clear that the affair had a lasting impact on the family. Shriver filed for divorce from Arnold in 2011 after learning of his infidelity, and Arnold has since acknowledged that his affair was his “f–k-up.” Despite this, Arnold has tried to maintain a relationship with Joseph, and has even spoken publicly about the importance of not letting his children suffer because of his mistakes.
However, it’s clear that there’s still some tension between Joseph and his half-siblings. In June, Arnold attended the “FUBAR” Season 2 red carpet premiere in LA with all five of his kids – but Joseph was noticeably absent from the group photo. Instead, Arnold posed separately with Joseph, a move that some might see as a sign of solidarity with his youngest son. Meanwhile, sources have told Page Six that Joseph has a good relationship with Arnold, but isn’t close with the other children. “The other kids don’t love Joe,” the insider alleged. “It’s a shame as he’s a really good kid, and Arnold has always treated him like all his other kids – very fairly. But for whatever reason, the other kids take [the affair] out on Joe.”
Joseph has also spoken publicly about his decision to go by his mother’s surname, telling “Good Morning Britain” in March that he’s trying to “do things on my own” and not rely on his famous family. “My family is very big in supporting from afar and not being so hands-on, I really appreciate that,” he said. “I think it’s really important growing up as a man to do things on your own. To figure it out, that’s what I’ve been doing.” It’s clear that Joseph is trying to forge his own path in life, but it’s also clear that his complicated family history is still causing some drama.
As for what’s next, it’s hard to say – but one thing’s for sure: the Schwarzenegger family has some serious issues to work through. Will Joseph and his half-siblings ever be able to put their differences aside and move forward? Only time will tell. Anyway, that’s the deal. Do with it what you will.
