Scarlett Johansson Steals the Spotlight at Jurassic World Rebirth Premiere

Scarlett Johansson Steals the Spotlight at Jurassic World Rebirth Premiere
  • PublishedJune 23, 2025

One could say the red carpet at Jurassic World Rebirth’s June 23 NYC premiere was more star-studded than a velociraptor’s lunch menu. Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, Mahershala Ali and Rupert Friend arrived looking ready for action—only to discover their biggest opponent was photographers asking for a second autograph. At least they didn’t have to outrun a T. rex in heels this time, but judging by the spray tan and bedazzled outfits, they came pretty close.

Scarlett’s husband Colin Jost showed up to applaud his wife’s covert-agent turn, while Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, David Iacono, Audrina Miranda, Ed Skrein and Bechir Sylvain brought enough swagger to make a Stegosaurus blush. Meanwhile, someone forgot to tell the dinos that matching cufflinks were optional. The air was thick with the faint whiff of designer cologne and existential dread—dino DNA is a lot less complicated than Hollywood’s social circuit.

Rebirth picks up five years after Jurassic World Dominion left the planet slightly more chaotic, as if Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard forgot to refill the world’s “Keep Calm” tank. This time, Johansson’s undercover agent leads a scientific expedition to a remote Atlantic island to locate the last surviving prehistoric fauna. It’s less “eat or be eaten” and more “photo op before extinction,” which is basically how any family reunion looks these days.

Speaking of families, Scarlett admitted she sneaked her kids Cosmo, 3, and Rose, 10, onto set during summer shoots—and shockingly, the only thing running from paparazzi was her toddler’s ice cream cone. Contrast that with Howard’s offspring, Theodore, 18, and Beatrice, 15, who apparently think stomping from a T-rex is just “Mom in heels doing yoga.” Father-of-five Chris Pratt once told E! News that his proudest role is being a dad, not a dinosaur killer, which must have confused any nearby velociraptors overhearing him.

Back on the carpet, Mahershala Ali radiated calm doom, as if he’s the only person who knows what happens when you bring back a creature that could swallow your car. Jonathan Bailey looked like he’d been groomed by paleontologists, and Rupert Friend managed to look brooding without evolving scales. Everyone managed to avoid stepping on anyone’s train—a minor miracle given the gravity of sequels and stilettos.

The night ended with the assembled celebs filing into the theater, probably wondering if theater snacks would serve gluten-free amber. Whether they survived the screening or had to sprint for an exit remains a spoiler best served with popcorn. Tune in next time for more dinosaur-sized egos and fashion catastrophes—because nothing says “cinematic spectacle” like humanity at its finest.
