Sara Foster Reveals Valentina’s Juvenile Arthritis and Go-To Relief Hacks

Sara Foster Reveals Valentina’s Juvenile Arthritis and Go-To Relief Hacks
  • PublishedJuly 31, 2025

Kai Montgomery here, and yes, I have to unpack another celebrity health update. Look, I don’t want to be the one to point out the obvious, but here we are.

Sara Foster confirmed her 14-year-old daughter, Valentina, has been diagnosed with juvenile arthritis, and she’s not holding back on the relief strategies that actually work. On the July 31 episode of her and sister Erin Foster’s The World’s First Podcast, Sara shared, “My 14-year-old daughter was diagnosed with juvenile arthritis.” She immediately added a practical tip passed along by a friend: “The number one thing you should do, of course after all the medical things, you need a red-light sleeping bag from Bond Charge. It reduces inflammation. Not only that, but it puts you in such a calm state.”

Before you roll your eyes at another “miracle” health gadget, consider that the recommendation comes with peer-reviewed backing on red-light therapy for inflammation reduction. Sara’s no-nonsense approach pairs standard medical treatments with lifestyle tweaks she swears by, and she’s shared these gems with her fans as candidly as she complains about being told what to do.

Foster’s frank update didn’t stop at pediatric joints. She and Erin spilled the tea on a skincare lesson handed down by their mom, Rebecca Dyer. Sara told E! News in May, “Everything you’re going to do to your face you need to do to your chest and neck.” Erin chimed in that the real beauty secret is basic health upkeep: “The greatest thing you could do for your skin is eat clean, eat healthy, drink water, exercise, sleep. That is the best thing for your beauty routine.” Talk about rolling your eyes at obvious advice—and still finding value in it.

Of course, teenage rebellion kicked in early. Sara admitted on the podcast, “When I was in my 20s, I was like, ‘I don’t want to be my mom.’ Just like I’m sure Valentina’s like, ‘I don’t want to be my mom.’ I mean, she’s told me to my face. She doesn’t want to be me.” But it’s clear the mother-daughter dynamic is full of tough love and real solutions, not just empty pep talks.

With ex-husband and former tennis pro Tommy Haas on board for co-parenting, Sara says watching Valentina grow more independent makes her wonder if she should have had more kids. “Where I am now, I’m kind of like, ‘Oh it would have been great if I had like four kids,’” she confessed. For now, she’s leaning into her duo-family life and tapping into the larger Foster clan for support.

And speaking of clan, music mogul David Foster—Sara’s dad—holds the title of “best dad” in his own right. The Grammy-winning producer welcomed youngest child Rennie at 71 and formerly admitted in his 2019 documentary that he used to chase new relationships like “shiny new things” (Rolling Stone). Now, he’s reportedly very happy with wife Katharine McPhee and a full brood that extends to nieces and nephews across the celebrity sphere.

So there you have it: Foster family health hacks, teenage pushback, and a real look at how celebrity parents juggle diagnosis and normal life. And that, dear reader, is why we can’t have nice things.
