Prince Harry’s Shocking Demands to Royals Revealed Before UK Visit

Hey, it’s Riley Carter here. I’m only mildly invested in the latest royal drama, but I guess it’s kinda juicy. So, Prince Harry is reportedly making some pretty big demands ahead of his upcoming trip to the UK, and they’re leaving palace courtiers “reeling.” According to a report from celebrity publicist Rob Shuter, Harry wants “full security” for himself and his family, “press control” coordinated by Buckingham Palace, and for his wife, Meghan Markle, to be treated as HRH “complete with bows and curtsies” if she attends.
Now, I get it, security is a big deal, especially when you’re a royal. But, like, Harry’s previous appeal for full police protection was denied earlier this year, so it’s unclear if he’s going to get what he wants this time around. The Duke of Sussex, 40, will reportedly meet with his estranged father, King Charles, next week, marking their first in-person reunion in 20 months. But, apparently, Harry’s not willing to compromise on his demands.
One of the most interesting requests is that Meghan Markle be treated as HRH, which would mean she’d get the full royal treatment, including bows and curtsies. But, as a source told Shuter, “For William, that’s a hard no.” It’s clear that Harry’s not looking for a half-hearted apology or a fake peace offering. He wants iron-clad guarantees, and he’s not afraid to speak up about it.
The Invictus Games founder previously insisted that having his family join him on future trips to the UK was not an option without “full police protection.” So, it’s likely that he’ll be flying solo on this trip, with Meghan Markle and their two kids, Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 4, staying behind in Montecito, California.
King Charles, on the other hand, is reportedly eager to make amends with his son. But, as another insider claimed, “Harry’s offering reconciliation — but at a price. And that price includes the entire royal family bowing to Meghan.” It’s a pretty steep demand, if you ask me.
The upcoming UK trip coincides with the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death, and it comes weeks after Harry’s press team met with the monarch’s communications secretary for a top-secret discussion in London. While it may seem like things are moving in the right direction, Harry claimed in May that his cancer-stricken father was not speaking to him.
Still, the father of two told the BBC that he would “love a reconciliation” with his estranged family. It’s clear that there’s still a lot of work to be done, but maybe, just maybe, this trip will be the start of something new.
Anyway, that’s the deal. Do with it what you will.
