“Power” Star Paige Hurd and NBA’s Royce O’Neale Are Engaged—And It’s Adorably Romantic!
  • PublishedMarch 1, 2025

Love is in the air for Paige Hurd, best known for her role in “Power Book II: Ghost,” and NBA star Royce O’Neale! The couple just got engaged during a dreamy getaway to the Viceroy Riviera Maya, proving that some love stories really are straight out of a rom-com. The engagement went down on February 13, just in time for Valentine’s Day!

Hurd, who’s also the goddaughter of the late rap icon DMX, was completely taken aback by the proposal, which featured an intimate dinner surrounded by rose petals and candlelight. O’Neale really pulled out all the stops with a slice of red velvet cake adorned with the question, “Will You Marry Me?” #Goals! The basketball player revealed to People that he was a bundle of nerves but was also overjoyed after Hurd said yes. “I was the happiest I have ever been in my life,” he shared.

Now, let’s rewind a bit—Hurd and O’Neale just started dating in early January 2024, but they hit it off like fireworks. While Hurd was initially hesitant about dating (something about finding herself and taking a break), she quickly realized O’Neale was different. The Phoenix Suns forward had actually been crushing on her for years, citing her as his “lifelong crush.” Talk about manifesting your dreams!

Their whirlwind romance saw them blending families and friends and traveling together—and it didn’t take long for them to realize they were soulmates. Hurd gushed about O’Neale, calling him “the most thoughtful, down-to-earth, gentle man” she’s ever known. Post-engagement, she expressed her excitement by saying she was “over the moon” and couldn’t wait to spend the rest of her life with him.

So, as they toast to their engagement and plan for a future together, let’s take a moment to swoon over how love finds you when you least expect it. Just remember, sometimes love can be as sweet as a slice of red velvet cake—just ask these two!
