The shirt in question depicted Garfield as an airplane, flying into a cartoonish version of the Twin Towers, with the slogan, “9/11? Yeah! I’ll take 911 … orders of lasagna!” Because nothing says “humor” like trivializing a tragedy that claimed nearly 3,000 lives.
In a candid interview with Fox 5 New York, Stabile couldn’t contain her disbelief, stating, “I just couldn’t believe my eyes. Thousands of lives were murdered.” And honestly, can we blame her? The seller, NelliesNestStore, has since removed the offensive T-shirts, perhaps realizing that some humor should never leave the realm of private jokes.
