Nina Dobrev, the Vampire Diaries star, was recently spotted without her engagement ring just days before her breakup with Shaun White was confirmed. On September 7, Nina attended the premiere of Eternity at the Toronto Film Festival, where she wore a stunning black dress with lace details. However, the notable absence was her diamond engagement ring, which Shaun White had gifted her in October 2022.

In a series of photos from the event, Nina’s left hand was prominently displayed, and the ring was nowhere to be seen. This was particularly noticeable in a group photo with Miles Teller, his wife Keleigh Teller, and other friends, where Nina’s left hand rested on her lap, adorned with a ring only on her middle finger.

But was this a sign of trouble in paradise? Not necessarily. After all, Nina and Shaun had been spotted together just a few days earlier, on August 31, at a farmer’s market in Los Angeles, where she was proudly wearing her engagement ring. Shaun was even carrying a large bouquet of flowers, and they seemed like the perfect couple.

However, it appears that behind the scenes, things were not as rosy. According to a source close to the couple, Nina and Shaun had mutually decided to end their relationship, which had lasted for five years. The breakup was reportedly not an easy one, but they parted ways with love and respect for each other.

The couple had met in December 2019, after partying together with friends, including Kayla Ewell and Candice Accola King, at the opening of the Bellagio Resort & Casino’s new supper club, The Mayfair, in Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve. Their romance blossomed during the coronavirus pandemic, and they made their relationship Instagram official in 2020.

Over the years, Nina and Shaun had shared many special moments, including vacations to Zion National Park in Utah and celebrating Thanksgiving with his family. However, it seems that their relationship had run its course.

In March, Nina had shared with E! News that she and Shaun hadn’t started wedding planning yet, five months after his proposal. She had expressed her desire to enjoy the engagement period and not rush into planning a wedding.

As for what’s next for Nina and Shaun, only time will tell. One thing is certain, though – their breakup has left fans shocked and curious about what could have been.
