Nicholas Braun’s Labor Day Weekend Take-Down: ‘Succession’ Star Busted for DUI

Nicholas Braun’s Labor Day Weekend Take-Down: ‘Succession’ Star Busted for DUI
  • PublishedSeptember 2, 2025

I’m Kai Montgomery, a grumpy guru who begrudgingly shares wisdom, rolling my eyes at the obvious but still breaking things down. And, oh joy, it seems like another Hollywood star has made a questionable life choice. Look, I don’t want to be the one to say it, but here we are – Nicholas Braun, the lovable Cousin Greg from ‘Succession,’ has been arrested for a DUI over Labor Day weekend.

Nicholas Braun, 37, was pulled over by police in Moultonborough, New Hampshire, on Saturday, August 30, according to TMZ. The ‘Succession’ star was held in Carroll County jail for about one hour and released on his own recognizance. Although no bail was set, Braun will reportedly have to return for an upcoming court date.

Braun’s reps did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment. However, it’s worth noting that the actor was not subjected to a mugshot because the department’s police camera was not working at the time of his booking. One can only assume that this might have been a minor consolation for Braun.

Braun starred as Roy family lackey Cousin Greg in ‘Succession’ for all five seasons of the hit HBO series from 2018 to 2023. His role as the great-nephew of Logan Roy (Brian Cox) earned Braun three Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series during the show’s five-year run.

But following the ‘Succession’ series finale in May 2023, Braun admitted that he couldn’t believe his time on the show was over. “We’ve been doing it for so long it feels like: Of course we’ll be doing more; I’m sure we have a start date coming up where we’ll be filming again,” he told The Hollywood Reporter at the time. “That isn’t true,” Braun continued. “So I’m kind of adjusting to the fact that it’s it. I feel so proud of the show and the finale. I just really feel a sense of pride and gratitude about it all.”

However, the actor has landed several roles since ‘Succession’ came to an end two years ago. Last year, Braun starred in the ‘Saturday Night Live’ biopic ‘Saturday Night’ in a dual role as entertainer Andy Kaufman and Muppets creator Jim Henson. He recently starred in the Dakota Johnson flick ‘Splitsville’ earlier this year and is set to appear alongside Hugh Jackman and Emma Thompson in the 2026 movie ‘Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Movie.’

Although Braun largely keeps his personal life private, he took to social media earlier this year to wish his girlfriend, Hyunji Ward, a happy birthday. “HBD to my sweet sweet DARLING of a girlfriend!” he wrote on Instagram in March. “You are the absolute joy of my life. You make me my best self! Like when you said that I could pull off this shirt full of forks. You were right. Love you dearly.”

And that, dear reader, is why we can’t have nice things – or, in this case, why we can’t have a DUI-free celebrity news cycle.
