Naomi Osaka’s US Open Exit Can’t Stop Custom Labubu Dreams

Naomi Osaka’s US Open Exit Can’t Stop Custom Labubu Dreams
  • PublishedSeptember 6, 2025

I’m Jaden Patel, and I’m here to dish out the tea with a side of dry wit. Naomi Osaka’s US Open journey came to an abrupt end at the hands of Amanda Anisimova, but that doesn’t mean her custom Labubu designer, Kerin Rose Gold, is ready to hang up her creative hat just yet.

In a bizarre twist of fate, Osaka’s loss to Anisimova means fans won’t get to see her final custom Labubu plan, but Gold tells TMZ Sports she’d love to still bring the vision to life. For those who missed it, Osaka’s tournament run introduced viewers to her new friends like Billie Jean Bling, Andre Swagassi, and more – with the Japanese superstar debuting a new bedazzled monster based on a different tennis legend each round she advanced.

Gold, the mastermind behind the “Lablingblings,” spoke with us about the popularity her products attracted, and she admitted she’s gotten more buzz over the past few days than the time she got name-dropped by Rihanna in an interview. While she hasn’t spoken with Osaka directly, Gold said her team was “very gracious with communication” on what they envisioned each round. From there, she did some research and got to work.

According to Gold, if she were starting with nothing, from the beginning of the 3D print until the end of the crystallization process, is somewhere between nine and 12 hours per piece. “The print takes about five hours. And then the crystallization can take anywhere from about like four or five hours per piece,” she revealed.

Osaka revealed after Thursday’s match her final installment in the Lablingbling series was going to be herself, and Gold told us if she still wants it, she’ll make it. “Her team has been so warm and so welcoming and so gracious,” she said. “Everybody is so nice, they’re so smart, truly so kind.” “If they want me back as a creative in any capacity, it would be my honor to come and work with them again.” “I’m hoping that there’s a way to make [the Osaka Lablingbling] happen,” she added. “No promises, but I’m hoping.”

Gold is no stranger to working with A-listers – outside of Osaka and RiRi, she’s also worked with names like Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, and countless others. Of course, actual Labubus took over the world in 2025 thanks to celebs like BLACKPINK’s Lisa and Kim Kardashian displaying their collectibles on social media, but who says the craze will die down by the next time Osaka takes the court?

As it stands, the Labubu craze shows no signs of slowing down, and Gold’s designs have become an unlikely sensation in the sports world. With Osaka’s final Lablingbling still up in the air, fans will have to wait and see if Gold gets the chance to bring her vision to life. One thing’s for sure – if anyone can make it happen, it’s Gold.

In the end, it’s clear that Naomi Osaka’s US Open exit won’t be the end of her custom Labubu dreams. Whether or not Gold gets to create the final piece, one thing is certain – the world of sports and pop culture will be watching with bated breath.

And so, the curtain closes on another thrilling chapter in the world of celebrity news. But don’t worry, folks – there’s always another shoe waiting to drop.
