Meghan Markle’s Royal Influence on Suits: Secrets Unveiled

Meghan Markle’s Royal Influence on Suits: Secrets Unveiled
  • PublishedMarch 9, 2025

Oh, Suits aficionados, gather ‘round! As the legal dramedy continues to dominate the streaming scene—thanks to its explosive revival on Netflix—creator Aaron Korsh has spilled some royal tea about the show, particularly regarding Meghan Markle’s role and influence. When Markle began dating Prince Harry in 2016, the Suits creator found himself in a delicate balancing act between Hollywood and royalty. In a candid chat with The Hollywood Reporter, Korsh expressed his initial thrill: “We’re dating a prince!” But the excitement came with its own set of challenges, particularly when it came to dialogue.

Korsh revealed a particularly amusing anecdote where the royal family’s discomfort with the word “poppycock” forced them to switch it to “bulls–t” in a scene featuring Markle’s character, Rachel Zane. Apparently, the royals were concerned about the potential for some cheeky editing. As Korsh put it, “they didn’t want people cutting things together of her saying ‘cock’”—a sentiment that highlights the sometimes absurd lengths to which the royal family will go to maintain decorum.

But the fun doesn’t stop there! Korsh described the original concept for Suits, which he envisioned as an “Entourage-meets-Wall Street” affair before it morphed into the legal drama we know and love. He candidly admitted that he had little faith in his script finding a home, simply hoping it would earn him some writing gigs. Yet, the show’s evolution from investment banking to high-powered legal drama significantly raised the stakes, presenting Mike Ross (played by Patrick J. Adams) with ethical dilemmas that kept audiences riveted for nine seasons.

With the upcoming spinoff, Suits LA, on the horizon, fans are buzzing with speculation about Markle’s possible return. Stephen Amell hinted, “You never say never—people come back—you never know.” Whether we see Markle don the pencil skirt once more remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure: the Suits legacy isn’t going anywhere soon. So grab your No. 2 pencils and get ready for class because this legal drama has only just begun to unfold.
