Meghan Markle’s Netflix Series ‘With Love, Meghan’ Falls Flat with Viewers

Meghan Markle’s Netflix Series ‘With Love, Meghan’ Falls Flat with Viewers
  • PublishedSeptember 5, 2025

Hey, it’s Riley Carter here. I’m only mildly invested, but I’ll give you the lowdown. Meghan Markle’s latest endeavor, the second season of her Netflix series “With Love, Meghan,” has tanked. Like, seriously tanked. The show, which dropped on August 26, features Markle sharing her favorite tips and tricks for hosting at home and exploring hobbies, with guest appearances from celebs like Chrissy Teigen, Tan France, and Jay Shetty. Sounds cool, right? Wrong.

The series failed to crack Netflix’s top 10 list, which is basically a death sentence for any show. According to Forbes, it racked up less than 2.1 million views within its first week. For comparison, the first season debuted inside the top 10 chart with 2.6 million views. Yeah, that’s a pretty significant drop. The show also didn’t make Luminate’s Top 50 Streaming Charts for the period between August 22 and 28, with fewer than 1.11 million views in its first two days. Ouch.

Markle’s not new to criticism, but this one’s gotta sting. UK critics trashed the show, calling it “tone deaf,” “needy,” and “self-indulgent.” Maybe they were just being harsh, but the numbers don’t lie. The show’s format is pretty similar to the first season, with Markle sharing her favorite recipes, decorating tips, and hobbies. But, I guess, it just didn’t resonate with viewers.

This setback is especially interesting given that Netflix recently renewed its deal with Markle and Prince Harry. The new deal is reportedly worth far less than their previous $100 million agreement, which they inked in September 2020. Archewell Productions also announced that the second season of “With Love, Meghan” would premiere on Netflix later this month, along with a new holiday special, “With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration,” set to air in December.

It’s worth noting that the first season of “With Love, Meghan” didn’t exactly set the world on fire either. It ranked 383rd with just 5.3 million views since its March debut. That’s, like, not great for a Netflix original. I mean, I’ve seen some pretty meh shows on Netflix, but this one’s got some major star power behind it.

The Sussexes have been trying to make a splash in the entertainment industry, but it’s clear that their efforts haven’t been entirely successful. Maybe they just need to find a different lane? I don’t know, but for now, it seems like “With Love, Meghan” is just not cutting it.

Anyway, that’s the deal. Do with it what you will.
