Lady Gaga’s Spooky Debut in ‘Wednesday’ Season 2 Leaves Fans Awestruck

Lady Gaga’s Spooky Debut in ‘Wednesday’ Season 2 Leaves Fans Awestruck
  • PublishedSeptember 3, 2025

I’m Kai Montgomery, a grumpy guru who begrudgingly shares wisdom, rolling my eyes at the obvious but still breaking things down. And, oh joy, another celebrity making waves in the entertainment industry. Lady Gaga, the 39-year-old singer-songwriter, has made her debut on Season 2 of the Netflix horror series “Wednesday” as the deceased Nevermore Academy professor, Rosaline Rotwood.

In a move that was likely expected by fans, Gaga joined the show after it was announced in May that she would be a part of the series. However, she wasn’t featured in part one of the season that dropped in August. Her character, Rosaline Rotwood, was introduced in episode six, where Wednesday, played by Jenna Ortega, is advised by her grandmother Hester, played by Joanna Lumley, to visit Rotwood’s grave to strengthen her psychic abilities.

The headstone then transports Wednesday into a chamber where Gaga’s character warns Wednesday not to break the “Raven’s Gaze.” Enid, played by Emma Myers, interrupts Wednesday’s ritual, resulting in a body swap between the two friends and roommates. Gaga also recorded the song “The Dead Dance” for Season 2, with a music video directed by Tim Burton.

Fans took to social media to share their excitement over Gaga’s performance, with one fan writing, “This looks like Gaga’s born to be in a Tim Burton universe,” while another viewer simply added, “MOTHER.” The show’s stars were also thrilled to have Gaga on board. Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, who plays Deputy Sheriff Ritchie Santiago, told The Post that Gaga was like a “spectre through the night,” leaving an after-effect of her presence on set.

Everyone on set kept tight-lipped about Gaga’s appearance due to NDAs, but Lewis-Nyawo gushed about her professionalism and niceness. “I think everyone was just like, she was so nice, she was so professional, she’s a consummate artist,” Lewis-Nyawo said. “I’m just so excited for everybody to see what she brings to the Nevermore and Jericho universe.”

Myers, who plays Enid, was also surprised by Gaga’s involvement, admitting that she didn’t know about it until someone mentioned it during filming. “I thought somebody would’ve told me something that big,” Myers said. “It was kind of out of nowhere.”

Gaga described how her collaboration with the show’s creator, Tim Burton, came to be. “I immediately had a song in mind called ‘The Dead Dance,’ and I had started working on it,” Gaga said. “But once I knew it was going to be for ‘Wednesday,’ I decided that I was going to work on it even more and I made it extra special for the show.”

Gaga continued, “To me, when you know that music and pop culture and Tim Burton all come together with this cast, that’s a very special recipe. So that’s why I’m here.” After that, the show’s creators asked Gaga if she wanted to be on the show, and she agreed.

In conclusion, Lady Gaga’s debut on “Wednesday” Season 2 has left fans and the show’s stars in awe. Her performance as Rosaline Rotwood and her song “The Dead Dance” have added a new layer of excitement to the series. And that, dear reader, is why we can’t have nice things without a little bit of drama and spectacle.
