Kim Zolciak Admits Using Daughter’s Brand Deal Cash Amid Divorce Drama

Kim Zolciak Admits Using Daughter’s Brand Deal Cash Amid Divorce Drama
  • PublishedAugust 1, 2025

Kim Zolciak responded directly to Ariana Biermann’s accusation that her mother and estranged husband Kroy Biermann dipped into the 23-year-old’s social media earnings.

Sage Matthews here, broadcasting from the 2 AM slump when every celebrity confession feels like another brick in society’s collapse. Of course this happened.

This shouldn’t be surprising, yet here we are: Kim Zolciak just admitted she leaned on her eldest daughter’s paycheck. After Ariana Biermann, now 23, claimed her Real Housewives of Atlanta alum mother and ex-NFL husband Kroy Biermann emptied her account, Kim felt compelled to explain herself. She joined Andy Cohen on the July 31 episode of Watch What Happens Live to own up to the family money mess.

Kim, now 47, told Cohen that “the rug was pulled out from the Zolciaks” when bills stacked up faster than Instagram likes. She confessed that Ariana’s funds got funneled straight into household expenses. “I was left holding the bag for the family,” Kim said, according to a recap on Bravo’s official site. That bag, apparently, was heavier than anticipated.

She also addressed whether she and Kroy borrowed from eldest daughter Brielle Biermann, 28. Kim admitted Brielle covered an electric bill here and there when their joint accounts ran dry. “I was left with nothing, so I had to figure it out fast,” she explained on-air. Kim declined to share the exact figure Ariana lent but insisted she’s mapping out full repayment.

Ariana first revealed the drama in the June 3 season premiere of the Bravo spin-off Next Gen NYC. She said she’s been on TV since age five but only began earning around 14 through partnerships and brand deals. “I made quite a bit of money,” she told viewers, per E! News. Two years ago, Ariana realized her balance was gone and pointed fingers at her parents.

Amid this financial turmoil, Kim and Kroy are also navigating a third divorce filing submitted in February after nearly 14 years of marriage. Court documents obtained by TMZ list their separation date as April 30, 2023, and describe the marriage as “irretrievably broken.” Both parents have launched competing custody requests for their four children, including 14-year-old Kroy Jr. and 11-year-old twins Kaia and Kane.

Despite the fallout, Ariana maintains she won’t let money wreck her bond with her mother. During a June 29 appearance on Watch What Happens Live, she stressed that cash should never trump family. “My mom will be my best friend forever,” Ariana said, adding that blessings and new deals will fill any monetary gaps.

So at least there’s a plan to square the debt. Meanwhile, we all wait for the next chapter of this financial soap opera. At this point, should we even pretend to be surprised?
