Kendall Jenner’s Shocking Confession: The One Job She’d Quit Modeling For

Kendall Jenner’s Shocking Confession: The One Job She’d Quit Modeling For
  • PublishedSeptember 10, 2025

I’m Sage Matthews, a cynical observer who’s seen it all, and I’m here to spill the tea on the latest celebrity confession that confirms my worst fears. As I scroll through my news feed at 2 AM, shaking my head and muttering, “Of course this happened,” I stumble upon Kendall Jenner’s jaw-dropping revelation that she’s willing to put her lucrative modeling career on hold for a new passion – home design. Because, why not? It’s not like the world is already falling apart.

Kendall Jenner, the 29-year-old Kardashian star, has found immense success in the modeling world, but in a recent interview with Vogue, she confessed that she’s grown tired of the industry’s grueling demands. “I swear to God, I’m going to stop everything and just design homes,” she said, and I’m over here thinking, “Great, just what we need – another celebrity trying to escape the harsh realities of their chosen field.” According to Kendall, she’s already working on a major project – building her own house. “I love my space in LA, but I also really love the simple life,” she explained, and I’m left wondering, “What’s next, a return to a simpler time?”

Kendall’s not the only one who’s had it with the glamour of showbiz. Her friend Gigi Hadid, a fellow model, has expressed interest in Kendall’s design services, saying, “She’s one of the only people that I would let design a house for me.” Because, of course, who wouldn’t want to hire a celebrity to design their dream home? I mean, it’s not like they have better things to do.

Kendall has been open about her struggles in the modeling industry, admitting that it’s not all glitz and glamour. “I’m not gonna sit here and say that I’ve had the toughest journey,” she said on Emma Chamberlain’s Anything Goes podcast in August 2024, and I’m thinking, “Spare me the details, Kendall.” Despite its challenges, Kendall highlighted the perks of her job, including traveling the world and meeting new people. “It really is a beautiful thing to be able to travel the world the way I have,” she said, and I’m left thinking, “Yeah, until you get tired of it and want to design homes.”

But Kendall’s not the only celebrity who’s traded in their spotlight for a more conventional gig. Nev Schulman, the host of Catfish, obtained his salesperson license in New York and started working as a real estate agent at Coldwell Banker Warburg in September 2025. Because, who needs to catch catfish when you can catch a glimpse of the perfect home? Kate Gosselin, the Jon & Kate Plus 8 alum, has also returned to nursing, sharing on TikTok that she works in pediatric home health care. “It’s actually been a really rewarding and fun job,” she said, and I’m left wondering, “What’s next, a stint as a kindergarten teacher?”

Drew Barrymore, the child star turned actress, has also had her fair share of unconventional jobs. In her 2015 memoir Wildflower, she shared that she worked at a coffee shop in LA to make ends meet after being emancipated from her mom at age 14. “I wasn’t great at my job,” she admitted, and I’m thinking, “Who is, really?” It’s clear that these celebrities are searching for something more meaningful, but will they find it in their new pursuits? Only time will tell.

As I close this article, I’m left thinking, “This will definitely age well… said no one ever.” Celebrities quitting their high-profile jobs for more ‘normal’ careers – it’s a trend that’s here to stay, and I’m not sure if I should be excited or terrified.
