Kate Gosselin’s Rare TikTok Reveal Shows Kids Revisiting Jon & Kate Plus 8

Kate Gosselin finally emerged from her quiet corner to offer a glimpse at life these days with her eight grown children. In an August 2 TikTok, the former reality mom now turned nurse provided the world with a GRWM (get ready with me) video and casually mentioned that her 24-year-old twins Mady and Cara, as well as her 21-year-old sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel, have been binge-watching their childhood on the old TLC series Jon & Kate Plus 8. Fans chimed in on how fortunate the siblings are to have those taped memories, and Kate deadpanned that her adult kids are streaming their younger selves with friends and partners. Cute, right?
Since the series wrapped in 2009 when Kate and her ex Jon Gosselin finalized their divorce, the family dynamic has shifted dramatically. Hannah, one of the sextuplets, told Teen Vogue in May that filming was constant and skewed their family ties. She admitted the crew’s presence “made my siblings and I closer to each other, even though it made my parents further from each other” and confessed it is tough to rewatch her parents’ on-camera squabbles. Yet here they are, casually reviewing those very scenes as a nostalgic pastime.
Despite stepping away from prime-time drama, Kate teased more appearances from her kids in upcoming TikTok clips. In a July 29 video she joked, “There is going to be a lot of dogs on it – and kids, but mostly dogs and me. I am in my German shepherd dog mom era. Is that how they say it?” Clearly the next chapter for Team Gosselin is four paws over eight kids, but never say never.
Social media also keeps serving birthday milestones and nostalgic throwbacks. On May 10, the sextuplets turned 21 and Kate marked the occasion with family photos showcasing the latter four siblings at their birthday gathering. Last year on Mother’s Day she celebrated Alexis, Aaden, Joel and Leah turning 20 with an Instagram tribute that read “No more teenagers in this house! Happy 20th birthday, my forever babies! I love you!” Meanwhile Jon has his own archive of celebratory posts, including an 18th birthday shout-out in 2022 for Mady and Cara and a proud dad snapshot of Collin and Hannah’s high school graduation in 2023.
From reality TV pioneers to stealth social media lurkers, the Gosselin kids have matured but can’t escape reruns of their own childhood. Kate’s new role as nurse and dog mom might steal the spotlight next, yet fans will keep tuning in for surprise cameos from her octet of offspring.
