Jonas Brothers Recall Buzz Aldrin Photo Snub at Cowboys Game

Jordan Collins here. I guess I can simplify this for you, since you probably did not catch every twist of the Jonas Brothers meeting Moonwalker Buzz Aldrin. In a recent episode of Josh Scherer’s “Last Meal” from the Mythical Kitchen YouTube series, Joe Jonas and his brothers Kevin and Nick shared the moment when the 95-year-old astronaut initially refused to take a photo with them at a Dallas Cowboys football game in September 2017.
The band member best known for “Cake by the Ocean” did not sugarcoat the awkward exchange. “Excuse me, can I take a picture?” Joe asked. Aldrin’s curt reply was just “No”. That refusal stuck with Joe, who pointed out that anyone on the sidelines of a major NFL game would normally oblige. It took an assistant’s encouragement before the lunar pioneer finally agreed to a snapshot.
Kevin Jonas chimed in to note that someone prompted Aldrin by saying the brothers were “hot stuff,” which convinced him to relent. The astronaut then posted the image on X with the caption: “I met the Jonas Brothers at the @dallascowboys game. Apparently they are hot stuff because my Mission Director @Buzzs_xtina said so.”
Mythical Kitchen host Josh Scherer quipped that Aldrin had certainly earned the right to be a little short with fans because he is, after all, “the man on the moon.” Joe agreed and Kevin made a playful jab about their upcoming joint New Jersey Hall of Fame induction. Aldrin was honored in 2008 and the trio will join him, along with the Isley Brothers and Bon Jovi keyboardist David Bryan, later this year. “They could actually take it away from us,” Kevin joked, to which Joe replied, “Hopefully Buzz Aldrin is not on the board.”
Fans will see the Jonas Brothers celebrate that induction at JonasCon in March, marking two decades since they first burst onto the pop scene. Beyond that milestone, the group is gearing up for the August 8 release of their eighth studio album, Greetings From Your Hometown, and the start of their nationwide “Living The Dream Tour” on August 10 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The tour wraps on November 14 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
“We’re beyond excited to hit the road and celebrate twenty years of music,” the brothers said in a statement. “Our fans have been with us through every chapter, and this tour is our way of honoring them, the memories we have made, and the ones we will create together. We can’t wait to make this our biggest, most unforgettable tour yet.”
Well, now you finally understand!
