Janelle Brown Denies Asexual Label, Teases Next Chapter

Janelle Brown Denies Asexual Label, Teases Next Chapter
  • PublishedJune 16, 2025

Assuming that exiting a 30-year plural marriage automatically tags you as asexual? Janelle Brown is here to set the record straight—while casually roasting everyone who thought otherwise. In a no-nonsense “Sister Wives: One on One” special with host Sukanya Krishnan on June 15, the 56-year-old reality star declared, “I promise you, I’m not asexual,” after years of fans speculating she’d sworn off sex entirely. Because obviously our top concern is whether a mid-50s Earth Mama is giving up the horizontal mambo.

The dry truth, Brown revealed with a smirk, is that the hormones have been “hell” since her December 2022 split from Kody Brown. Not exactly the storyline TLC teased, but hey, surprises keep ratings up. She quipped that her zodiac sign—Taurus—demands “everything earthy: food, wine, sex—all of it,” adding that any future suitor better come with a healthy appreciation for passion.

Contrary to those viral rumors, Brown insisted her intimacy meter never hit zero with Kody. On a 2023 episode of Sister Wives, she dropped, “There was definitely physical compatibility… everything was very good in that department.” Translation: the bedroom might have been just fine, but the homefront was chaos. She blamed Kody’s rigid rules and preferential treatment of fourth wife Robyn Brown for fracturing the family unit and ultimately driving her away. “If he had truly been watching out for me and my children,” Janelle fired back, “he would’ve found a way to make it work for the whole family instead of cherry-picking who obeyed the rules.”

Meanwhile, first wife Meri Brown also spilled her own tea in the season premiere, admitting Kody dangled “hope” during a 2018 Flagstaff move only to ghost her emotionally. “His lack of communication,” Meri lamented, “was the story he’s been telling for years.” Kody, in true deadpan reality-TV fashion, confessed his mixed messages stemmed from a single thought: “Why would I do this? I would not court and date her now.” Bravo to honesty—sort of.

And let’s not forget Kody’s real estate subplot: after snapping up 14 acres in Flagstaff for $820,000, he casually mentioned he’d “rather scrap it or sell it” than pay the mortgage. To which Robyn replied with Olympic-level enthusiasm, “I can’t talk about that.” Romance at its finest.

So where does this leave Janelle? Unshackled from plural marriage stereotypes, ready to embrace earthly pleasures, and firmly off the asexual bingo card. Tune in next time for more high-stakes confessions, questionable decisions, and the glamorous world of televised family therapy.
