Howard Stern’s SiriusXM Show Saga: The Radio Icon Spills the Tea

He debuted his SiriusXM show in January 2006, two years after signing with the satellite radio broadcaster. Last month, reports surfaced that the “Howard Stern Show” was nearing its end, with Stern’s $500 million contract expiring at the end of the year.

SiriusXM execs have been trying to renew Stern’s contract, with CEO Jennifer Witz saying that he’s been “core to our platform for over 20 years” and that she’s “confident we’ll get to the right place.” Stern promised to return to his regular schedule on September 2 after his annual summer break to address the topic of the future of his show. However, he then told his listeners that the reveal was postponed until September 8.

In the end, it was just a wild ride for Stern’s fans, but at least they can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that their favorite radio show is sticking around. And, honestly, that’s all that matters.
