Harry Styles Dazzles in Tokyo Marathon, Finishing Strong Against 20,000+ Runners

So, Harry Styles is not just a heartthrob but also a marathon runner? You bet! The former One Direction member lit up the streets of Tokyo on March 1 as he took part in the iconic Tokyo Marathon, completing the grueling 26.2 miles with a stellar net time of 3:24:07. This impressive feat had him crossing the finish line in 6,010th place out of over 26,000 finishers, but who cares about the placement when you’ve just outrun more than 20,000 other competitors?
Styles’ running gear was on point—dressed in all-black with those striking yellow Nike shoes, he looked every bit the rockstar while giving fans a thumbs-up and a grin. I mean, isn’t running twice as fun when you’ve got your fans cheering you on, right? His commitment was evident as he maintained a consistent average pace of 7:47 per mile throughout the race, showcasing those undeniable split times that must’ve had his fans – and maybe even some marathon ran wannabes – swooning.
To put things in perspective, he ran the first half in about 1:42:03 and followed it up with nearly the same time for the second half, proving that his stamina is as impressive as his vocal range. For context, other celebs have also tried their hand at marathon running. Colin Farrell ran the 2021 Brisbane Marathon in 3:53:14, while Jennifer Connelly came in at 3:45:47 during last year’s NYC Marathon, making Styles’ debut a noteworthy entry in the world of celebrity runners.
But let’s not get too carried away; the actual male winner, Tadese Takele, completed the race with a lightning-quick net time of 2:03:23, highlighting that while Styles has the chops, he still has a bit of work to do if he plans to compete for the top spot next time. With more than 37,000 runners participating this year, the event was a massive success—sending participants on a route that symbolizes Tokyo’s past, present, and future.
As Styles keeps fans buzzing with the possibility of new music following his last album, “Harry’s House,” released in 2022, we can only hope he’s spending time in the studio, ensuring his next album will have just as much energy. After all, if you can run a marathon like that, can a new hit be far behind?
