Gwen Stefani’s Father’s Day Tribute to Blake Shelton Sidelines Ex Gavin Rossdale

Gwen Stefani’s Father’s Day Tribute to Blake Shelton Sidelines Ex Gavin Rossdale
  • PublishedJune 15, 2025

Oh, joy—Father’s Day just turned into a one-sided love fest. Gwen Stefani kicked off her annual social-media tribute this year by showering husband Blake Shelton with praise, conspicuously omitting any nod to ex Gavin Rossdale, father of her three boys. According to People magazine, the “Hollaback Girl” singer posted a series of sunlit beach snaps on Instagram, captioning them with sweet nothings like “Happy Father’s Day to the world’s best dad” and tagging Shelton in every frame. No mention of Kingston, Zuma, or Apollo’s biological dad—because what’s a few missing shout-outs between co-parents, right?

Entertainment Tonight chimed in with the exclusive scoop that fans immediately noticed the glaring absence. While Shelton was beaming next to Gwen’s kids—Kingston, 15, Zuma, 13, and Apollo, 8—there was zero acknowledgment of Rossdale’s role in their lives. This wouldn’t be the first time modern parenting etiquette gets tossed out the window when celeb dynamics are at play. If anything, it reinforces the notion that social-media love letters are more about optics than actual gratitude.

Rossdale, who shares joint custody of the boys with Stefani following their 2016 divorce, kept his own Father’s Day fairly low-key. According to a post spotted by Us Weekly, Gavin simply shared an artistic black-and-white portrait of himself reading to the trio with a modest, “Happy Father’s Day to all the dads.” Crickets followed from Stefani’s corner. No like, no comment, not even an emoji. Curious timing, or just another case of passive-aggressive holiday etiquette?

We can conjure up plenty of theories—perhaps Gwen’s still holding a grudge over that time Gavin hired private detectives during their custody battle (The Daily Mail recalls the saga in full scandalous detail). Or maybe she’s just really, really into country-boy husband worship. Either way, this digital snub feeds the endless rumor mill and leaves fans wondering if co-parenting boundaries now come with social-media disclaimers.

Let’s be blunt: if your ex is still actively parenting your children, a public Father’s Day nod hardly undermines your current romance. Unless your main goal is to win the Passive-Aggressive Post of the Year award, of course. And that’s today’s dose of reality. You’re welcome.
