Derek Hough Spills Tea on His “Zaddy” Era and DWTS Season 34

Derek Hough is gearing up for his “zaddy” era, and he’s getting some tips from none other than Dylan Efron. In a recent chat with E! News, Hough spilled the tea on how he’s preparing for season 34 of Dancing With the Stars. “I’m gonna be a daddy and maybe even a zaddy,” he said with a chuckle. For those who may not know, Hough’s wife Hayley Erbert is pregnant with their first baby, and he’s taking this opportunity to get in shape and maybe even develop a six-pack like Efron’s.
Hough, a dance pro-turned-judge on the show, has been asking Efron for advice on how to get those coveted abs. “If I can do a few more sit-ups, I can get Dylan Efron abs,” he joked. “I’ve already been asking him, I’m like, ‘Hey dude, what are you doing man? Am I eating the wrong things here because my abs do not look like that.'” It’s clear that Hough is taking his new role as a dad and potential “zaddy” seriously.
As for the upcoming season of DWTS, Hough teased that it will be a competitive one, with many cast members active on social media. “You’re not just gonna get the show, you’re gonna get a 24/7 show,” he said. The show’s cast includes a mix of celebrities, such as Alix Earle, Robert Irwin, Whitney Leavitt, Jen Affleck, Hilaria Baldwin, Danielle Fishel, Jordan Chiles, and many more. Hough also mentioned that he’s excited to find out who the celebrity dancers are, just like the rest of the world. “I just found out about somebody last night and I’ve known some people since May,” he said. “But I don’t try to find out. I see people trying to figure it out and I guess that’s kinda fun, but my personal preference is finding out.”
Robert Irwin, whose sister Bindi Irwin won season 21 of the competition series, is one of the celebrities who has been confirmed to be part of the show. He’s clearly excited to compete, saying, “I am over the moon to be joining Dancing With the Stars this season. It hasn’t sunk in yet. I’m ready to hit the ballroom. Let’s go, let’s do this. I don’t know how my dance moves are, but I’m gonna give it 110 percent anyway.” Alix Earle, an influencer and longtime fan of the show, is also looking forward to competing. “I’ve always been a fan of Dancing with the Stars,” she said on Good Morning America. “I used to watch it when I was so young with my grandma, and she would always say to me, ‘Maybe one day you could be on there.'” Earle added that she’s ready to challenge herself and have fun.
