Cross-Country Shooter Slays Four in Midtown Skyscraper

Twenty-seven-year-old Shane Tamura drove from Las Vegas to New York before opening fire in a Midtown skyscraper Monday night. Hi there it’s Quinn Parker buzzing with too much coffee and ready to spill every startling detail faster than you can say “latte.” Okay folks, buckle up because this is WILD.
According to law enforcement sources speaking exclusively to TMZ, Tamura hit the road on Saturday after stopping in Colorado. He rolled through Nebraska and Iowa on Sunday and rolled into Columbia, New Jersey by 4:24 PM on Monday. Less than two hours later, at 6:28 PM, frantic calls flooded 911 reporting an active shooter at 345 Park Avenue on 52nd Street.
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch revealed that Tamura arrived in a black BMW with an M4 assault-style rifle in his right hand. He strode into the lobby and unleashed a barrage of bullets. The first victim was Officer Didarul Islam, an NYPD hero and father of two with another child on the way. He was killed instantly shielding others. Tamura then fatally shot a woman hiding behind a pillar and a security guard crouched at his desk. A second man suffered gunshot wounds and remains hospitalized in critical condition, according to his own account at the hospital.
Incredibly, Tamura let a woman exit the elevator before getting on himself. He ascended to the 33rd floor, home to Rudin Management, and fired again, killing one more person in a hallway. Moments later, the suspect took his own life with a single shot to the chest.
By night’s end, four people were dead, one critically injured, and four more treated for minor wounds sustained while fleeing the hail of gunfire. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell confirmed that one victim worked for the league at its Park Avenue headquarters.
Commissioner Tisch noted that Tamura had a documented mental health history. A source told CNN that he left a suicide note complaining about the NFL and claiming he suffered from chronic traumatic encephalopathy. He reportedly asked that his brain be studied postmortem, though officials have not confirmed this publicly.
Investigators recovered a loaded revolver, rifle case, ammunition, spare magazines, a backpack, and prescription medication from his vehicle. No explosives were found.
The 325 Park Avenue building also houses Blackstone, KPMG, and a Bank of America center. Monday’s shooting marks the deadliest gun attack in New York City in 25 years and has left the city reeling.
Whew, I swear I need another espresso after unpacking all of that!
