BU Soccer Alumni Stand by Coach Feldman After Cooper Claims

BU Soccer Alumni Stand by Coach Feldman After Cooper Claims
  • PublishedJune 16, 2025

So here we go again: a battalion of past Terriers has penned a love letter to their former coach, Nancy Feldman, in the wake of Alex Cooper’s sexual harassment allegations. In a letter obtained by TMZ Sports, ninety-nine former Boston University women’s soccer players—spanning decades of rosters—declare they “never felt unsafe” under Feldman’s leadership. They’re not trying to undercut anyone’s personal experience, the note insists, but felt compelled to offer their unified take on what really went down in BU’s locker room.

The alumni letter, delivered via a representative of BU Women’s Soccer, rings with unwavering loyalty. Signatories emphasize Feldman’s professionalism, pointing out she “approached every day with professionalism, making decisions in service of the success of the team.” No whispers of impropriety or witness to anything that could qualify as harassment. Instead, they paint a picture of an empowering mentor whose influence persisted long after the final whistle—staying connected and guiding former players through career twists and turns.

On the flip side, podcast powerhouse Alex Cooper claimed otherwise in her “Call Her Alex” documentary. Cooper alleges that during her mid-2010s stint at BU, Feldman crossed a boundary by quizzing her about her love life, then benched her for declining to divulge intimate details. Cooper says she and her family brought these concerns to school officials, only to be met with radio silence. TMZ’s report on June 16 cited that Cooper felt trapped by her athletic scholarship, fearing that speaking up could cost her that coveted grant.

Cooper further unpacked her experience on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, describing a sophomore year marred by invasive questioning and a sense that her tuition-funding future teetered on the coach’s goodwill. She admitted she once planned to sue but ultimately scrapped the idea. Now, armed with millions of podcast listeners, she’s using that megaphone to revisit the allegations she once feared raising.

Boston University, meanwhile, has reiterated its zero-tolerance policy for sexual harassment, reminding the community of its Equal Opportunity Office and robust reporting protocols. The school promises support, resources, and “a safe and secure campus environment for all,” although Cooper’s supporters argue the promise rang hollow back in her playing days.

I don’t care if you’re team alum or team Alex, neither side is strolling off into the sunset with unanimous applause. The alums insist they’re speaking truth to vindicate a mentor. Cooper insists she’s finally speaking truth to power. I told you so: when these stories resurface, expect everyone to double down. Did anyone expect a different outcome? No? Thought so.
