Affleck and Garner’s Front-Row Fenway Reunion Captures Co-Parenting Goals

Affleck and Garner’s Front-Row Fenway Reunion Captures Co-Parenting Goals
  • PublishedJuly 12, 2025

Another day, another rare co-parenting moment for Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner at Fenway Park with their kids. The former couple, who announced their split in June 2015 after nearly a decade of marriage, reunited on July 11 to cheer on the Boston Red Sox in a front-row family outing alongside their 16-year-old daughter Fin and 13-year-old son Samuel. Their eldest, Violet, 19, was sitting just behind them, rounding out the picture of a modern blended family putting their children first.

Affleck, 52, and Garner, 53, opted for a low-key but sweet display of camaraderie. They shared laughs, exchanged smiles and even leaned in for private conversations between plays. Sources close to the family say the kids were thrilled to have both parents in attendance, and the players on the field didn’t steal the full spotlight—at least not in the eyes of those seated in front.

This outing follows Garner’s affectionate Father’s Day tribute last month. Posting an archived shot of Affleck holding a baby, she wrote on her Instagram Stories, “Happy Father’s Day to 3 people’s favorite landing spot.” For his part, Affleck recently told GQ, “I’m really lucky that I have a really good co-parent and partner in Jennifer Garner, who’s wonderful and great and we work together well.” Those quotes underscore the amicable dynamic that has defined their relationship since parting ways.

Going back to 2016, Garner opened up to Vanity Fair, saying, “The main thing is these kids, and we’re completely in line with what we hope for them.” She added that seeing your children love someone “purely and wholly” makes maintaining a friendship inevitable. Affleck echoed that sentiment in a December 2021 chat with Howard Stern, clarifying, “We had a marriage that did not work. She’s somebody I love and respect, but to whom I should not be married any longer. We did it amicably.”

Their Fenway reunion may feel fresh but it is grounded in years of mutual respect. They first sparked romance back in 2003 at a Planet Hollywood screening for Daredevil. A whirlwind courtship led them to wed in June 2005, and they quickly became one of Hollywood’s golden couples. Highlights of their decade together included red carpet moments at the Golden Globes, Critics’ Choice Awards and the 2013 Oscars, where Affleck won big for Argo. They raised three kids, juggled busy careers and even took on challenges like the ALS Ice Bucket challenge side by side before announcing their split in 2015.

Since then, Garner has been dating John Miller and Affleck finalized his divorce from Jennifer Lopez in January. Yet despite new chapters, their bond as co-parents remains unshakable. This Fenway Park snapshot is more than a feel-good scene; it’s proof that sometimes the best partnerships evolve outside of romance.

If you thought this was the last time you’d see them share hot dogs and high-fives, think again—there may be more ballgames, birthday parties and coffee runs in the works. Anyway, that is the deal. Do with it what you will.
