Gypsy-Rose Blanchard on Marriage with Ken: “Rainbows and Sunshine? Hell No”

Gypsy-Rose Blanchard on Marriage with Ken: “Rainbows and Sunshine? Hell No”
  • PublishedMarch 18, 2025

Gypsy-Rose Blanchard, the woman who once made headlines for orchestrating her mother’s murder, is now navigating the complexities of love, pregnancy, and the looming question of marriage. In the latest episode of *Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up*, Blanchard opens up about her relationship with Ken Urker, the father of her unborn child, and her reluctance to rush into matrimony. “Is everything rainbows and sunshine? Hell no!” she quips, proving that even in the midst of domestic bliss, she hasn’t lost her edge.

Blanchard’s relationship with Ken is a whirlwind of hormones, history, and questionable timing. The two reconnected shortly after her release from prison in December 2023, where she had served eight years for her role in her mother Dee Dee’s murder. Their reunion was swift, passionate, and, as Blanchard admits, hormonally charged. “When we reconnected, it was the hormones. The hormones made me move so fast,” she confesses with a laugh. Yet, despite the speed at which their relationship has progressed, Blanchard is determined to avoid repeating past mistakes.

Her previous marriage to Ryan Anderson, whom she met and married while incarcerated, ended in a messy divorce shortly after her release. Blanchard acknowledges the collateral damage of her impulsive decisions, particularly the pain caused to Ryan. “People got hurt, and I recognize that a lot more now,” she reflects. This newfound self-awareness has made her cautious about committing to Ken, even as he drops not-so-subtle hints about their future. “You know you’re gonna be my wife someday,” Ken tells her during their intimate moments, but Blanchard isn’t convinced. “Is this pillow talk?” she wonders aloud.

Her sister Mia, often dubbed the “wise one” in the family, offers a voice of reason. “There’s no point in rushing it, because what’s going to change? Nothing. Y’all are still going to love each other with a wedding ring or without,” Mia advises. Blanchard seems to be taking this advice to heart, emphasizing the importance of open communication and maturity in her relationship with Ken. “We’ve gotten to a place where we can be open with each other,” she says, though she admits that their journey hasn’t been without its challenges.

As Blanchard prepares to welcome her first child and finalize her divorce from Ryan, she’s determined to approach her future with more thoughtfulness. “I acted selfishly with reconnecting,” she admits, acknowledging the need to consider the perspectives of her family and loved ones. Yet, at the end of the day, she knows the decisions are hers to make.

So, will Gypsy-Rose Blanchard and Ken Urker walk down the aisle? Only time—and perhaps a few more hormone-fueled decisions—will tell.
