Prince Harry Reflects on Invictus Journey: No Regrets, New Connections

Prince Harry Reflects on Invictus Journey: No Regrets, New Connections
  • PublishedFebruary 26, 2025

Prince Harry was spotted mingling with some serious A-listers like Katy Perry and Chris Martin during the Invictus Games 2025 in Canada, but let’s be real; his heart was with the athletes. As he celebrated a decade since launching the Games, Harry sat down with Us Weekly to share his thoughts—surprise, surprise, he wouldn’t change a thing about his journey. Except, of course, for the fact that these Games even had to exist in the first place. “I wouldn’t change any of it—with hindsight, it’s been a wild ride, but it sucks that the Invictus Games are necessary,” he remarked.

Reflecting on his time at the event this year, where he witnessed Team UK defeat Team Nigeria in a sitting volleyball semi-final, he emphasized the importance of community among veterans. “These incredible humans are not alone,” Harry said, addressing the invisible and visible scars many carry from their military service. It’s all about connection, my friends! He’s been particularly moved by the solidarity displayed at the Games, where service members come together, share their stories, and realize they’re part of a larger brotherhood.

With the Games now featuring exciting winter sports, one can only imagine how thrilled Harry and Meghan were to get involved. Meghan, who had to head back home to their kiddos, was not shy about cheering on her husband—her latest Instagram posts were filled with support (and yes, Harry is here for it!). The couple’s journey through these past various Invictus Games has fostered countless cherished memories, from a nerve-wracking hug from a fan at the 2018 Sydney Games to the emotional connection Harry feels to Birmingham, where the next Games will be held in 2027.

The Invictus Games weren’t just about competition; they’re a platform for healing through sports, physical rehabilitation, and psychological support. It’s a powerful testament to resilience—something Harry knows plenty about from his own military background. So, while he might be a prince, Harry’s heart is clearly grounded in the real world of life-changing camaraderie and healing.
