KPOP Demon Hunters Sequel Tease: Cast Spills on Possible Return at VMAs 2025

I’m Riley Carter, and I’m here to give you the lowdown on the latest celebrity scoop. The stars of the hit Netflix film KPOP Demon Hunters are leaving the door open for a possible sequel, and we’re not mad about it. Three months after the film’s release, which saw it become the most-watched movie on Netflix with over 236 million views, the cast – including Audrey Nuna, EJAE, and Rei Ami – addressed the possibility of a sequel at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards.
In an exclusive interview with E! News outside of UBS Arena on September 7, EJAE cheekily hinted at the potential for more Huntr/x action, saying “Stay tuned. Who knows, you know?” Audrey Nuna added that the cast is also waiting for the call, stating “We’re waiting as well for the call.” Rei Ami confirmed that they still haven’t heard anything about a sequel, but promised that “As soon as we know, we’ll let you know.”
The cast’s comments come as they’re still trying to wrap their heads around the massive success of the film. Rei Ami noted that “We’re all still processing. It’s a lot. Every day it’s been a new milestone, a new record. Obviously so grateful and honored but it’s just really hard to process.” Audrey Nuna agreed, saying that their lives have been a lot “busier” since the film’s release. “It’s been pretty hectic,” she explained. “A lot less time to just chill. Pretty insane. I think all of my family members have asked me to sign things for their coworkers and things like that.”
Rei Ami also shared that her family is going crazy in Korea, with fans and family members alike clamoring for more information about the film’s success. Despite the chaos, the cast was excited to showcase their personalities at the VMAs. Audrey Nuna, for example, channeled her inner Mira by wearing a puffy jacket that mirrored a major moment from the film, where her character proves her coolness by wearing a sleeping bag to the Met Gala. She paired her look with a traditional Korean Binyeo hairpiece, saying that those elements were her favorite from her look.
As the stars of KPOP Demon Hunters continue to bask in the glory of their film’s success, fans are eagerly awaiting any news about a possible sequel. With the cast’s hints at more to come, it’s clear that we haven’t seen the last of Huntr/x.
The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards saw a slew of celebrities walking the red carpet, including Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino & Lauren Sorrentino, DJ Pauly D & Nikki Hall, and many more.
As the stars continue to shine on the red carpet, we can’t help but wonder what’s next for KPOP Demon Hunters. Will we see a sequel in the near future? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure – we’re here for it.
