Denise Richards Accuses Estranged Spouse of Laptop Heist and Order Breach

Denise Richards Accuses Estranged Spouse of Laptop Heist and Order Breach
  • PublishedJuly 29, 2025

Hello, I’m Jaden Patel, your designated tour guide through the glittering wreckage of Hollywood relationships. In today’s installment, we get to watch a former Bond girl and her soon-to-be-ex duke it out over hardware and heartbreak.

This week, Denise Richards filed a petition in Los Angeles County Superior Court demanding the return of her laptop, plus any cell phones allegedly in the possession of Aaron Phypers. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Richards asserts that Phypers violated an existing restraining order by taking her device loaded with personal photos, videos, and text messages. She wants a judge to force him to hand everything back, intact and undeleted.

In response, Phypers flatly denies any wrongdoing. He tells sources that he never stole or hacked Richards’s laptop and insists all of the disputed material originally came from his own phone during their marriage. He points out that the couple shared devices freely, at her request, after he confronted her regarding an alleged affair earlier this year. Phypers claims that Richards asked him to check her phone “to rebuild trust” – a trust he now says she shattered when she filed these allegations just days after he filed for divorce on July 7.

Phypers further counters that Richards is “manufacturing false claims to damage my reputation and distract from the truth,” accusing her of weaponizing the restraining order process. He goes so far as to claim she stole his phone without permission, physically assaulted him when he tried to retrieve it, and smashed it before hiding the pieces in a recycling bin. Photographs of the damaged device were reportedly taken as evidence.

Their legal teams are now locked in battle: Richards’s lawyers argue that her restraining order was granted on July 17 and explicitly prohibits Phypers from contacting her or possessing her property. They assert the laptop and phones contain evidence of infidelity and privacy breaches that must be secured immediately. Meanwhile, Phypers’s counsel insists none of those devices were ever taken by force and that every communication can be traced back to consensual sharing during the marriage.

Both sides confirm a highly contentious divorce hearing is scheduled for later this month, where the couple will argue over asset division and potential sanctions for alleged evidentiary tampering. It’s shaping up to be a courtroom showdown thick with accusations, destroyed electronics, and plenty of legal jujitsu.

Factoring in infidelity claims, device custody disputes, and restraining order violations, this saga has all the makings of a prime-time legal drama. As Phypers puts it, “Everything being claimed can be disproven. I trust the truth will emerge.”

Stick around because when the judge’s gavel finally falls, neither side will leave quietly. Expect more exhibits, more denials, and possibly more shattered gadgets.

End of transmission. Humanity remains gloriously unpredictable.
