Chad Michael Murray’s Kids Steal the Spotlight at Freakier Friday Premiere

Hi, I’m Avery Sinclair and I’m not buying the hype. Oh, this should be good.
Chad Michael Murray and Sarah Roemer quietly unleashed their two little pastel-clad tagalongs on the red carpet for the Freakier Friday premiere in Los Angeles on July 22, marking what they insist is a “rare” public family cameo. This is the same One Tree Hill alum who claims to thrive in a secretive lifestyle – and yet here we are, gawking at toddler-sized Dsquared2 riffs and matching mint green tulle.
The 41-year-old Murray, back from his rom-com roots in the new Freaky Friday sequel opposite Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, opted for a Dsquared2 spring-summer 2025 pink blazer paired with black trousers. His son – age nine but already a chip off the old block – rocked a baby blue suit complete with pristine white sneakers. Meanwhile, Roemer, the Disturbia star turned homeschooling CEO, and their eight-year-old daughter served identical mint green vibes: mom in a halter gown, daughter in a floral-embroidered tulle number.
Despite this surprise outing, the couple insists little Murray offspring rarely step into the Hollywood glare. Their daughter, by the way, has already binge-watched dad’s 2004 Cinderella flick in bed, according to a 2024 E! News chat with Chad. “I came home from work and I saw my wife and my daughter sitting in bed,” Murray laughed. “I said, ‘What you watching?’ Right away I knew – she loved it.” Cue the heartwarming cringe.
They added a baby girl to their brood in 2023, and per an Instagram post from Mother’s Day that year, Sarah handles homeschool, pop quizzes and snack time while Murray coaches his son’s little league team, as told to Etalk. And yes, they travel with the circus of homework and baseball bats – but not to “cool” hotspots, Murray told Bello before becoming a dad. Their private-cabin escapes and canine contingent apparently beat any A-list nightclub.
So why break the cardinal rule of celebrity parenting? Industry observers note that Freakier Friday hits theaters August 8, and every bit of red-carpet optics helps boost buzz. Give credit to Murray and Roemer for crafting a coordinated family tableau without a pap meltdown. Still, if overexposure is your worry, rest assured this may be a one-off stunt rather than a new handicap of weekly photo ops.
Call it a strategic tease or just a pastel-themed photo op, but either way, Hollywood now has photographic evidence that the Murrays do get out sometimes. And yes, those tiny suits and tutus do make a photographer’s day.
That’s today’s dose of family-friendly photo fodder. No wild scandals here – just a neat little public debut. Over and out.
