Dolores Catania Hints at Real Housewives of Rhode Island Cameo
Heads up, reality TV devotees: Dolores Catania just dropped a tantalizing clue about Bravo’s newest spin-off. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star spoke exclusively to E! News about the network’s latest series, The Real Housewives of Rhode Island, and she may not be staying on the sidelines.
Two months after Bravo confirmed the Rhode Island installment, Catania revealed she has “connections” with several cast members and praised their spirited style. “You think we’re Italian? They paint the streets with the Italian flag in Rhode Island. They’re feisty,” she told E! News, highlighting the vibrant family ties that echo her own New Jersey roots. Despite her enthusiasm, Catania played coy on whether she’ll make a cameo. “Stay tuned,” she teased, leaving fans eager for any hint of a crossover.
While fans speculate about a cameo appearance, Catania’s main focus remains on her home franchise. The Real Housewives of New Jersey is currently on pause following its season 14 finale, and viewers have been clamoring for an update. Catania admitted she doubts Rhode Island can fill the void left by the Garden State. At 54 and a full-time cast member since season seven, she explained that viewers form personal bonds with the cast. New Jersey, in her words, “is in a league of its own,” and “we remind you of your aunt or your mom or your cousins.” Those emotional ties, she argued, are what fans miss more than the drama itself.
True to form, Catania also opened up about life off camera, confessing that she misses the camaraderie of filming. “It’s like a bad breakup,” she said of her separation from the New Jersey ladies. Yet the support from viewers has meant the world to her. “I want to bring everyone over the house,” she confessed. “I don’t care if it’s a million people, I want everyone to sleep over and stay.”
When it comes to off-screen friendships, Catania remains close with her RHONJ co-stars. “I spoke to almost everyone today,” she revealed, listing Jen Fessler, Margaret Josephs, Melissa Gorga, Teresa Giudice, and Danielle Cabral among her text threads. The Jersey girls, she confirmed, are “tied,” and she hopes for a reunion soon.
Outside of reality TV, Catania is focusing on her wellness journey, navigating GLP-1 weight loss treatments. She credited ginger chews from Dramamine’s Advanced Herbals line for easing nausea, calling them a lifesaver during her toughest days. “I wish I had these when I was pregnant 30 years ago,” she laughed, underscoring how simple remedies can have a big impact.
