Wednesday Season 2 Trailer Teases Grim Twist: Enid’s Shocking Fate Revealed

Wednesday Season 2 Trailer Teases Grim Twist: Enid’s Shocking Fate Revealed
  • PublishedJuly 9, 2025

Another bombshell from Nevermore Academy—just what we needed. The newly dropped trailer for Wednesday season two straight-up warns us that Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) has premonitions of her bubbly roommate Enid (Emma Myers) biting the dust. In a scene ripped from a teenage Gothic fever dream, Ortega’s deadpan Wednesday tells Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) “Enid dies, and it’s all my fault.” Cue the ominous organ music and obligatory Gothic candlelight.

Let’s break this down without the glittery obsession everyone else is slathering on. First off, yes, Netflix is splitting the season into two parts: part one adrenaline-fueled debut on August 6, then part two dripping in suspense on September 3 (Netflix teaser, July 9). So plan your binge-watching therapy accordingly.

Ortega’s no stranger to dark comedy, but she spilled to E! News in March that season two is “very graphic”—and not in a “look how edgy” way, but more like Tim Burton really unleashed his inner monster (E! News, March interview). It seems every hallway, study hall and greenhouse at Nevermore cranks its creep factor up a notch. Jenna admitted that focusing on one persona for months can feel like running in place, but Burton’s vision keeps her from snoozing at the monitor.

Meanwhile, Emma Myers as Enid deserves a medal for playing the bubbly foil who’s allegedly destined for an early exit. Their friendship dynamic goes from pastel skies to “Who sent that bloodstained letter?” faster than you can say “Addams.” Rumor has it (well, more like the trailer says) that Wednesday will deploy her supernatural sleuth skills to hit rewind on this death prophecy—or die trying.

Catherine Zeta-Jones, sunny as Morticia, gets to deliver her finest “daughter, that’s quite morbid” looks. And if you thought guest stars were extinct by now, think again: Lady Gaga is rumored to crash this party, as teased by Luis Guzmán (who swoons over her artist cred in an E! News May chat). Expect Gaga to elevate the baroque weirdness even further.

So: mystery, murder premonitions, pastel versus pitch-black fashions, plus Burton’s twisted camera angles. Wednesday season two promises enough shock value to power a small haunted mansion—and the promise of a life-or-death rescue arc gives the show actual stakes beyond teenage eye-rolls.

Nothing shocking here, folks. Let’s all act surprised—then queue up that trailer on repeat. That’s today’s dose of reality served with a side of cynicism. You’re welcome.
