Jenelle Evans Breaks Silence on David Eason’s Ex-Girlfriend’s Tragic Loss

Jenelle Evans Breaks Silence on David Eason’s Ex-Girlfriend’s Tragic Loss
  • PublishedJune 12, 2025

Oh joy, another celebrity drama that I’m forced to dissect. Look, I don’t want to be the one to say it, but here we are, talking about Jenelle Evans and her estranged husband David Eason’s messy past. Evans, the Teen Mom star, has finally spoken out about the tragic death of Eason’s ex-girlfriend Olivia Leedham’s 7-year-old daughter, Lailah Price, who passed away on June 7. Because, of course, the drama never ends with these people.

Evans shared her condolences with Leedham, stating, “I share all my condolences and my prayers out to David’s ex, because I can just not imagine how she feels right now.” One can only assume that Evans is trying to be sympathetic, considering her own divorce proceedings with Eason. I mean, who wouldn’t want to distance themselves from that toxic situation?

The circumstances surrounding Lailah’s death are heartbreaking. According to a friend of Leedham, the young girl had been in the emergency room multiple times without a diagnosis before having a seizure and passing away in the hospital. A GoFundMe campaign was launched to help Leedham cover her living expenses in the coming months. Because, you know, that’s exactly what you need when you’re grieving the loss of your child – a bunch of strangers asking for money.

Leedham and Eason share a 10-year-old son, Kaden, and she frequently shared updates about her children on social media. In a heartfelt tribute to Lailah in May 2024, Leedham wrote, “My little girl… she truly amazes me every day… Her beautiful heart and mind… she is smart.. she has the most amazing personality and I’m so proud of her for who she is… I love you my little Lailah bug.” It’s clear that Lailah was a bright light in her family’s life.

Evans and Eason, on the other hand, have been going through a messy divorce. Evans filed for legal separation in early 2024 and recently moved to make the split permanent. She told E! News, “I filed for absolute divorce… So, fingers crossed, just waiting on paperwork to be signed, and then I’ll have my last name back.” One can only assume that Evans is eager to distance herself from Eason’s drama.

As I wrap up this summary, I’m left thinking, did anyone expect a different outcome from this toxic family dynamic? No? Thought so. And that, dear reader, is why we can’t have nice things.
