2025 TV Lineup Shakeup Renewals and Cancellations Revealed

2025 TV Lineup Shakeup Renewals and Cancellations Revealed
  • PublishedJuly 16, 2025

Okay so let me tell you this is WILD, I have been bouncing off the walls since I read the latest TV update. E! News confirmed on July 16 that HGTV has axed Christina on the Coast and The Flipping El Moussas, leaving fans of Christina Haack and Tarek El Moussa scrambling for their next design fix. Yes you read that right, both home renovation shows are officially off the air.

Speaking of competition series that survive the cut, The Flip Off is strutting back for season two with Heather Rae El Moussa leading the charge. Deadline notes that the split decision on HGTV’s lineup shows just how brutal network renewals can be. It is almost like the network went through a demolition phase before building up its new slate.

But wait there is more heartbreak on the scheduler. NBC’s Suits LA bowed out after just one season, and heavy hitters like CBS’s S.W.A.T. and ABC’s Doctor Odyssey have also been sent packing. Over on Netflix, Queer Eye fans will have to savor the upcoming 10th season as it marks the show’s final bow. Those cancellations add fresh fuel to the rumor mill about streaming and network strategies going head to head.

Now let us spill some celebratory tea because reality staples are safe for the moment. ABC’s The Bachelor is gearing up for its milestone 30th season, Survivor is plotting new tribe twists, and Below Deck Mediterranean will set sail once again. Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is back to stir up more drama and Love Is Blind will test hearts with its blind dating gambit. Love Island USA is also expected to return, according to insiders at E! News, so summer romances remain on the menu.

Scripted series are holding strong too. The Bear has been a critical darling and will serve another whole helping of chaos in the kitchen. The White Lotus and Grey’s Anatomy will bring fresh storylines, while Bridgerton is ready for more regency romance. Top comedy hacks show Hacks is locked in for another season too, so viewers can count on laughs no matter their streaming service of choice.

Of course the big buzz is Netflix’s Stranger Things which kicks off its fifth and final season in November. Noah Schnapp who plays Will Byers told E! News earlier this year that the ending is more emotional and epic than anything they have done so far. He promised fans will be really satisfied with how the supernatural saga wraps up.

On the streaming front Apple TV plus jumped in with a season two pickup for its star studded spy thriller Murderbot starring Alexander Skarsgård, while Netflix confirmed seasons two and three of Squid Game The Challenge are on deck with a November premiere for season two. The TV world is expanding, contracting and pivoting faster than a showrunner can shout cut.

Okay I need a second cup of coffee after that whirlwind tour of 2025 showbiz.
